I did find the humor in the author's words. Yet I also felt sad thinking of
the funeral being planned. The author's words are descriptive and creative. Thank you for the author's notes - they made smile! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork goes well with the theme and words of this poem. Have a good night!....Maria

Hi Maria, just want to let you know that I really appreciate your awesome review and your lovely comments about my funeral poem. Writing this gave me a little bit of an eerie feeling because it was starting to feel too real. However, I do have a book that I am in the process of filling out, that tells my family what my wishes are. Lol, ActuallyI would rather not think about it at all, you know ?
It does help that I am pretty confident where my journey will lead me.
    Thanks again, my dear friend!

Hi,
This is a well done tongue and cheek tribute to yourself. It shows your humor and you care for your family to see you at your best in your casket. Making sure your hair is perfect (ha ha).
I don't think you had to misspell swamped so we would know it rhymes with prompt.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest

Joan

I am glad I could help.
You're welcome. I think everyone should let their family know what they want for their funeral.

I enjoyed your light-hearted poem about dying. I thought it was quite amusing, in spite of the theme. The verse I liked best was the last one...
"And when it's time to bury me
You'll be at my grave sight (two words I think)
My last request is that I'll be
At rest with a night light" ~ which seems to imply you'll be reading in your dark space. That is really clever and cute and of course, easy to believe. The accompanying picture is perfect! Good luck in the contest.

I truly thought this was a clever and fun read. Very creative.
I thought this part was awkward; maybe it was just me. However, I enjoyed the read

When read, it may be a surprise
Some things about your mom
I'll know, kids if you roll your eyes
Know where I'm coming from?
Good luck in the contest

LOL, Hi Mary, yeah, that is a little private joke between my kids and me. As teens and yet I think, they have rolled their eyes at me, because I at least used to bore them with my positive attitude. So they have called me Pollyanna for years. And I tend to get kinda crazy with the grandkids, just a little over the top sometimes. So it is a standing joke over the phone, I will say, "you are rolling your eyes at me, aren't you? "So that was my favorite part of it. However I sent this to them, and they said it freaked them out because they didn't want to think of such a thing. So that made me happy.
Mary I thank you again for your kind review and comments.
You are the best, my friend.

This contest entry was fun to read and creative. I enjoyed reading. Actually, my father-in-law, planned his own funeral. It was interesting to say the least. Good luck with the contest.

I like this very clever and thoughtfully hilarious post. You've thoughtfully and skilfully thought it out. So now we have someone planning their own funeral, what a good idea. Excellent flow and rhyming in this well written traditional poetic post, very well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This is a very mature and sensible approach to a subject that is far too serious for some people. It is an eventuality for most of us who are alive today. Since we cannot avoid it, we may as well make peace with it. This was a fun read despite the subject.

You caught my attention with the title and I had to see what your work was about. Love the humor and the little comments about who should and who should not be included in the program and why.
Best of luck in the contest.

I like this humorous poem. I've actually started putting together my own funeral. I haven't gotten very far with it at this point, but I guess I'd better get with it. If I die before I get it finished, who knows what they will do! :)

Put on your father's dime? Pad (add?) my age. Chuckle. We should plan ahead, takes the strain off the family. I liked your humorous poem entered in Tributes. Wishing you luck in the contest. K xx

. Hi Kay, I just want to let you know that I really appreciate your awesome review and your lovely comments about my funeral poem. Yes, here at least in Minnesota to put it on your dime is to pay for it & pad something is to add to it. if I were to put add, it would've just sounded like I didn't want them to put my age in there, but that's why I use the word pad. Writing this still gave me a little bit of an eerie feeling because it has made it feel too real. However, I do have a book that I am in the process of filling out, that tells my family what my wishes are. Lol, ActuallyI would rather not think about it at all, you know ?
