The best friend she had was her cell phone? I think your story is very realistic because many individuals can't leave their cell alone one minute. It is sad because playtime is not outside playing with friends unless they have their cell with them.

Thank you! Well said, it's a slippery slope, and though my kids are only in elementary school, they can get this way with their iPads! It drives my husband and I crazy and unfortunately, our rules are uncommon among parents...

Good luck in the contest. You must have experience with middle schoolers. Looking forward to high school, it just gets worse. Smart phones seem to be more a part of the anatomy the older they get. Instead of being joined at the hip with a bff, they are joined at the hand and the head where the eyes never leave the screen. If they talk to one another at all; they text. If they see each other, it's in an online chat. I think they come back to themselves and one another in person in college. Then the electronics became their gateway to knowledge and shopping.

Thank you so much for your review. Although my kids are only in elementary school, this is my biggest pet peeve, and now a fear. They can get this way with their iPads. They can't understands why we won't allow them to have iPhones?! lol

A cute story with an imaginative twist at the end. It reminds us old folks that the technology we blame for such a disconnect, also connects friends and can make our day better for it. I think Fanstory is an example of that.
