Good morning, Wendy,
I cannot begin to comprehend the evil of the man responsible for the murder of Daniel, but even more so, I cannot comprehend the suffering that Daniel and his family must have endured. Inconceivable.
And then there is the issue of the junior officer vs the senior officer's ego... That is despicable as well.
And intriguing and incredibly disturbing narrative that captured my attention from beginning to end...
Much appreciated despite its content. I worry so for all children - especially my two little grandsons growing up in a world where such evil exists...

Thank you for sharing...

Thank you for your thoughtful and insightful review. Yes the perpetrator was so evil I couldn't even bear to name him, he's just a monster. I too can't imagine their unbearable grief. But I shared it to honour them for what they have dedicated their lives to - making a difference, and alkso so that anyone can access the free resources if they wish to. Many thanks for the six stars. It;'s anhonour to receive them.

This is a chilling story... told with clarity and compassion. What a nightmare for the family. How absolutely cruel what can happen in the space of a few minutes, between missing a bus and disappearing.
The parents are truly heroic to bring the message with such dedication to help others handle threatening situations, and, as you say, 'Making his life count'.

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. Vigilance needs reminders.
In the U.S. the Adam Walsh case did the same as Daniel's did.
Traumatizing kids is an issue to consider.
I like what Hillary Clinton wrote: it takes a village to raise kids. We all should be observant of their safety.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne for your thoughtful review. I think the little kids' stories are done in a gentle way, and no details of harm are given. Just along the lines of "If something doesn't feel right, then tell Mummy" sort of thing, but done in a way that they aren't frightened of all the possibilities, just to know that it is okay to say no, and it is okay and important to tell someone if they feel anxious. And you are right. Care for children is a community responsibility (so long as we can trust that the community has the same values as we do, and most people do, re children.)

Wow, Daniel's story is a powerful remembrance tale to tell! It tells so much about his parent's deliverance from the grief that might have paralyzed them.
This story is well told and you bring many issues to light about the need for safe surroundings for children of all ages.
Those pedophiles who roam the streets and online games as well are nothing to themselves but to others, they steal their hearts. Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking tale about Daniel and his parents who rose above the death of their child to conquer all the obstacles in their way.
Live all you can and give to others instead be all the tendencies that grief might offer.

Thank you Jesse. Six stars - I value and appreciate each of them! It is an honour. I hope that in sharing this one, all parents may not only become vigilant but perhaps access the resources available for them to use with children and teens. Thank you again.

This case as similarities on this side of the globe in the case of Madelaine McCann who disappeared whilst on holiday with er parents in Praia da Luz, Portugal in May 2007.

Yes, that was another horror story, especially because at one stage her parents were considered to be suspects. I can't imagine the anguish.
    Thank you for reviewing.

I think your world would be better served if you became a commentator on nightly news and relate such stories as this one for posting it here only enlightens a few, and the message must be resounded throughout the Land Down Under. Oh, I susppect it has.
