I'm so sorry for your loss. My mother died in 2001, but I never stop missing her. Especially on holidays I think of her and my dad, how it was back when. Thank you for sharing.

People say time heals, but you never really get over the loss of losing a loved one. I feel the same about my grandparents, who I lost ten years ago now. I still get really upset, especially when I think of something I would've loved to have told them, only to realise I can't do that now. A well written, emotive piece. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very sad but lovely piece of well written poetry about grief. I can relate to it as I lost my mum when she was 64 and I will be that age in March so I'm quite nervous at the moment. God takes the best people and leaves the dregs of society to continue living sadly

    Dearest Wendyanne,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sixty-four is much too young. My heart goes out to you. Please try not to be afraid. I will say a prayer for you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your last line was very emotionally captivating. I know this is a very personal poem, so I don't really have anything to offer as critique. I think your thoughts and feelings here are communicated well and easy to understand. Grief is a difficult process.

I lost my Mom in August. She was my best friend too.
Christmas will be hard. She was goofy for it. She was really bad about gifts like a kid. She would shake presents. One time she confinded in me that she had unwrapped and rewrapped the present from Daddy, because she really wanted a Timex watch, and wanted to be able to smile if she didn't get it. She got it, and we all had a happy Christmas. I hope more good memories rise to the surface for you. This is good writing. Karen

You have captured the feelings of seeing a lost one going away in this poem. A nicely written poem!

Yes, you're right nobody can understand that feeling, not even your family members.

Only time can heal. Some people take longer time, others less.

It's a good thing to let go off the past and start a new beginning.

First and foremost I am sorry for your loss. Mothers are precious and any age of loss is too soon.

The lady in your picture looks devastated.

I think this poem would be of interest to any who grieve.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sad loss, Ramona. It's always so difficult as well when Christmas is upon us, no matter how many years have passed. Your rhyming free verse flows beautifully and poignantly as you speak to your late mother, questioning why this separation has come about when bad people still walk free. I remember when I lost my mother having a very memorable sensation, wondering why she was gone and other older women were still walking the streets. It's a very understandable emotion you have of a sense of injustice but such a strong reflection of the love that you still have for her. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest, Debbie

It cannot be a good thing to lose a loved one. As you have so for that I extend my heart felt. Wish for you to find peace. Know that whenever you speak her name or think about her. She turns and smiles upon you. The other side is 3 steps up. A slight shift to the right a slip of the veil and your home. Very well written poem and a fine submission. I see no issue with Grandma or sex. I wish you the best and hope you have a good evening!
