Another fine and powerful poem, Jesse's your attitude is one that's so difficult to feel but an attitude that a must if you want to stay sane and not drive yourself crazy

My sincere condolences for the loss of someone you loved so deeply. It's a painful emptiness that's hard to fill...thank heavens we have lasting memories to warm our hearts. Great job, Jesse.
Hugs, Carol

This made me think of the poet's sage remark "'tis better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.'" I love that you look on the bright side of David's departure: a cherished memory to be savored forever.

Hi Jesse,
Sorry about the loss of a love. I am glad there is no more pain. This shows that this relationship did you both good but you grew out of it.
It also reminds us that life and love go on.
Congrats on you 200th post.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day and week.
Joan

Thanks, Janet, for your kind and positive review. Yes, I'll be okay. There is only love to gain. I've learned a few lessons. I will use the last relationship as a springboard for better things ahead.

Sorry for your loss. There are many people that move through our lives, everyone leaves some mark. I hope you quickly get to the point where you have more sweet memories than regrets. Let me know when you manage that. Good brave writing. Karen

Beautiful poem. I enjoyed reading it, and feel compelled to say, I am sorry for your loss. The dolphins are a lovely touch, they are so deeply intelligent and emotional creatures.

Hi Jesse. .You expressed your feelings well throughout your poem. I'm glad you have fond memories of him. I like the picture. I think it goes well with your words. I liked the words: crystallized within. Very good job.

Good morning, Jesse,
If I didn't know the backstory to your well-crafted and moving poem, I would still rate it with six stars for its moving imagery, voice, and emotive response it drew from me.
But I do know the backstory, and as such, please know that I respect your decision to share this moving post with readers; I hope it was cathartic for you to pen.
But most of all, know that you are worthy of love and laughter and all that is good in this world.
Thank you for sharing, Jesse.
Sending healing thoughts your way,
Fondly,
diane
