I guess they'll never learn. It's a sad tale, but one that is probably happening more than we know.
Good rhyme and meter throughout and lively images.

Oh, my!!!!!!!!! I do not know why, but this made me laugh, Pam -- poor idiot!!!!!! Wait -- maybe I DO know why, and it's not funny. (it's only funny because he was so d-u-m-b.
Lusting and lying? Even being in that club was an invitation for trouble.

Excellent poem!

I liked the poem. I thought it had a funny, fairy tale nature despite the heavy story. I'd also don't believe alcohol is what made this man do wrong.

Hi, Henry. If you liked the story, why only four stars. I?m just curious as your rating will be thrown away. The best and worst ratings are thrown out. Thanks

Nothing good has ever happened when drinking to much hooch! Your poem told a good story about this man's impurities. Did he deserve to die? No.

The next poem should be about the wife and how she found out where he was and doing? Why she shot him? Her life afterwards?

Nicely done
John

You definitely get your point across about moral values. I personally didn't mind the ending. Of course, the person didn't deserve to die (that's a given), but it does give a certain bang to your poem. I enjoyed it.

Pamusart, some parts of this sadly reminds me of "They Shoot Horses, Don't They." Thanks to title and picture, this theme is furthered complexed and tragically played out due to escapades via your copious notes. An interesting story/poem. teafor2

Hi Pam,
This is a sad story of how married men acted in these places and with prostitutes. Alcohol leads you to do things you wouldn't do sometimes. Jealousy and adultery are dangerous sins that lead to others.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great day.

Wow! What a great poem. I love it. Poor guy, he was a bit naughty but I agree, he didn't deserve to get shot. Love the artwork. Thanks for the very entertaining read. Jen.

I enjoyed your story. When you are in a place like that there is so much temptation. You can easily get pulled in. The poem was interesting and written well. Great job.

What a fun read! It took a turn to the bad side of the dancehall rather sharply:

Their clothing now begins to stink
They're smashed with nothing left to say

Most enjoyable.
