Well, I'm pretty sure you know what I'm going to say. I absolutely love your stories about Sunny. I think it would be awesome to read them in a collection. Just an idea, possibly add any letters or notes from others about him. Pictures drawn by kids, that kind of thing. Good luck with the other writing thing too. Gretchen

Just wrote a long response, and somehow it didn't save. Many thanks for a super review, for the delight and honour of six stars, and for a great suggestion. I was thinking of including stories about Honey (first dog) and a couple of cat stories for background and context (everything is of course linked), and calling it "Sunny Days and Others". The others refers to both other pets, and to stories which are other than sunny in tone. Any thoughts? I always respect your insights.

I think you could preface it with something about the other pets. But I might be confusing since this is about Sunny and his work, personality that kind of thing. Not trying to exclude those stories but maybe condense into one or two chapters about previous pets. But, in the end, this is your baby, go with your gut. Gretchen

Thanks so much Gretchen. I'll retain the other stories for background and context, but they'll only be around 10 to 15 % of the book, I expect. And I need a title which doesn't need explanation. Maybe "Sunny Days with Friends". (Sub-title maybe "It's a dog's life!") Or maybe the other way around. Thanks so much for your suggestions and ideas. I find your thoughts are very helpful.

I did what you instructed: I pretended I had no knowledge of you or Sunny and just read this cold...and was warmed from the inside out. YESSSSS, yes, a thousand times yes, you MUST submit this because it is TREMENDOUS.

You're a fantastic writer, Wendy; your work always just hums along. It's interesting and melodious and easy to follow. And to get to learn about a great (and very loved) dog in the process is delightful.

I vote a huge 'YES, DO IT!!!" xoxox

Thank you so much for this very enthusiastic review - as well as for the wonderful and encouraging extra stars. I would include stories about Honey as well as a couple of cat stories (to give background and context) and a couple of other animal stories. What do you think of "Sunny Days and Others" for a title? (The "others" would refer to the stories of my days with other pets and animals, and also to the sad stories and a couple of confronting ones). i appreciate and respect your thoughts and opinions. It's good to have a couple of people to bounce ideas off.

I don't love the title; the "and others" feels awkward to me. The "Sunny Days" part I love. But if you think of that in conjunction with words you'd use in conversation or writing with "Sunny Days," then you'd find the perfect fit: Sunny Days Together, Sunny Days with Friends, Sunny Days at Work and Play. Something along those lines. You want it to roll off the tongue so it feels natural and, therefore, memorable.

    Just one woman's opinion.

Yes, you are right. It's awkward and needs explanation. Maybe "Sunny Days with Friends". Thanks so much for the thoughts and insights. Exactly what I need and find very helpful. Many thanks!!!

My pleasure. I know you'd do the same for me in the reverse situation!

Three cheers for Sunny! There cheers for you! And two and a half for the kitten! LOL You know I couldn't resist any mention of Sunny and a story about him is my joy. He's very special and with his excellent skills he seems to have accomplished training you as well. Way to go!

Thank you for a wonderful and most encouraging review! The book would include some stories about Honey as well as the cats (from my previous life) for background and context, and a couple of other related animall stories. What do you think of "Sunny Days and Others" for a title (the others being other pets, and also the less than sunny, sometimes sad stories)?

I did not know about Honey; what a sweet dog, and I'm so happy you were able to give her peace in her final years. What a blessing she was for you.

I like this entry for a possible book of Sunny stories with one suggestion - the part about Honey doesn't seem to fit here. Yes, it fits the part about the phone call and the nine words, but it doesn't seem necessary to me for a story about Sunny. I personally think it would be a more effective opening if it were just about Sunny.

I think this would be a really fun project for you, Wendy. You'll have to keep us posted.

Thanks so much, Pam. Your reviews are always insightful and thoughtful. There would be some stories about Honey and also other dogs/animals, but the majority would be about Sunny. The title would have to suggest that. Something like "Sunny Days, and Others". Thanks again.

Yes, this would be a suitable opening for a book of Sunny stories. And yes, I'm quite certain you would sell ten books. (smiley face here) Personally, I do not lean toward pet stories of any type (too sappy), but yours are entertaining. They are interesting, and very well written. Properly marketed, there is a vast audience of dog lovers. A challenge would be to reach people like me who did not have the benefit of FanStory to warm to Sunny.
This post is another example of excellent writing.

Thank you Wayne. Yes, a lot of books about animals are indeed quite sappy. I probably should add a subtitle, something like "Will this book convert people like Wayne?" Lol. I am glad you find mine interesting enough to read - thank you!

This story would be a good opening Story for the book you are considering. It gives a full introduction to Sunny and gets people interested in hearing more. I would love a book with Sunny stories.
