This is the book you told us you were thinking of writing, and here it is. I like your comment, "We don't remember the days; we remember the moments." So true!

Okay, we all want to know - did they get a dog or are they at least looking?

Eleanor sounds like a very smart young lady, and she probably knows how to push Daddy's buttons already (as little girls learn quickly).

A fun story, Barbara. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Eleanor is a daddy's girl and has daddy wrapped around her little finger, but so far no dog. They do have two cats and have had them before Eleanor was born. Thank you for the kind support.

I can see both points of view. It is wonderful for kids to have a dog. But a dog is work and that's usually the parents. And a dog gets very lonely if it has humans who are away much of the day. Lovely story. Thanks for sharing.

I was allergic and couldn't have animals but that was me having a discussion with someone. At an early age I could hold my own in a conversation. Eleanor is going to be fun to have around.:-)

My line for Eleanor is she is a 'hot mess.' She doe have her daddy wrapped around her finger, she's a daddy's girl. But I'm pretty sure Andrew won't give in on this one. He's pretty stubborn. Both parents have commented that Eleanor takes afte her grandma. Hmm. Thank you for the kind support.

Hi, Barbara. I hope you are well

Another Eleanor, no relation to the Eleanor in your other book, the ghost?

Pardon me if I get the names mixed up I'm sorry

This was a cute chapter. Looks like the kids succeeded in getting a dog even though the dad didn't want them to. Sounds like the mom did.

How old is Eleanor in this? It sounds like both girls are pretty cute.

I look forward to more

I enjoyed reading your book chapter

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Begin Again has the Eleanor in her novel, not me. Eleanor just turned four, Monday. They don't have a dog, yet. I doubt Andrew will give in on this one. Thank you for the support.

Before her death, my wife and I adopted a dog not too long after her birth. We named her Angelina, after my mother. She looked a lot like the dog in the picture. She had the most beautiful blue eyes. Now, I like to leave treats for the visiting dogs at our assisted living center.

Yes, I think Andrew was holding out as long as he could but the writing was on the wall. And you just put it into words. As ever, your excellent dialogue carries the story and is a joy to read. Well done, Barbara. Take care Debbie

This was sweet, innocent, and very amusing. I think it was the perfect way to start this project. I especially liked "maybe our neighbors like dog poop." LOL. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Your son may be getting his first lesson in the unforgettable fact that girls, determined to get their way girls, are difficult to argue with or reason with, in an, "I will not be denied what I really, really want." Discussion.

We've always owned dogs, and our girls love them but I don't think they're loved by their hubbies, except the pleading of our granddaughter changed Teddy's mind, (my younger daughter's hubby) and now they own a large female Rottweiler, which we dogsit three days a week, beautifully written Barbara, blessings Roy
