The two of you are writing a very wonderful story and I am enjoying very much reading it. I wish you the very best and I also like the idea of two people working together writing chapter after chapter. Have a good day and God bless you. Patricia.

I thought your voice came through really strongly in your writing and I think, as the characters are based on you and Gretchen, that that really helped bring the personalities of your characters to life on the page. I really enjoyed reading it.

I like your alternate endings idea for the Bible. Controversial, yes; but think of the possibilities for story lines!

Of course, the first thing you're asking for is heels because God forbid you have to spend a few days with your feet outside of them!

I'm with you - I always cry when I hear Amazing Grace.

I like that next to the last paragraph - the wizard casting a spell is a nice touch.

Are you going to add corn cobs to your hair for Tova's arrival? She should get the full experience of Rachelle out of her element:-)

A fun read, AH.

The alternate Bible endings idea wasn't mine; Simian Savant actually sponsored a contest on here for it! (I did Rachel and Leah's story and [deservedly] lost out to the fractured version of turning water into wine...)

Amazing Grace is definitely a fan favorite. Look how long it's been around, after all!!

As far as corn cobs, I believe there will be some blue ones coming, um, down the pike, sometime soon!!

Thanks for the delightful review, PT.

Aah. Another vision of my Mennonite gal from 1972. And all I have to add is that its the woman that makes the dress and not the other way around. I enjoyed the humor throughout this chapter. Any chance she'll decide to stay???

Wonderful. A super read, filled with vivid descriptions, and emotions which are both understandable and powerful, and the cultural aspects are smoothly incorporated. The storyline remains original and creative and I am greatly enjoying this collaboration.

Oh, Rachelle, this is marvelous! and you make it so real - your description of precious Solomon, and you, conducting, happy as a lark.
I also had to chuckle at your picturing Tova laughing, receiving your message, AND, you picturing yourself running to your husband in your Amish get up! ha ha ha. Wonderful scenes. Does your husband see any of your chapters? Wouldn't he enjoy them? I be he'd love this one. I do!
Write on!

I love how you add the humor and cultural tidbits in these stories! I was aghast that the hostess didn't know about the importance of kosher diets! I probably wouldn't have eaten that either. But from Gretchen's previous post, I was worrying about the effects of too many blueberries on you. Oh, and I hope Tova was on her way before telling everyone about your situation!

Well, you never know when there could be a blue corncob reference!

Thanks for this very warm and validating review, Helen. It's lovely to have you along on our road trip. xoxo

It is funny that there meals consist of so much pork. I'm sure there is a slab of pork cooked in with the green beans as well. I don't eat pork either so I probably would pass on the greenbeans and only eat the rice pudding.I'm glad Rachelle is able to feel so joy in participating in the choir practice. I wondering if the telephon message will get through.

Rice pudding is one of my all-time favorite desserts. High school friends of mine and I meet periodically - like once a month - at a nearby restaurant and call it a "rice pudding date."

Thanks for the nice review! xoxox

Here's hoping help is on the way for the two stranded conventioneers. Will they make it in time is the question. Narrator's frantic phone call is great. The narrator shows her soft side when she hears Solomon sing. He has perfect pitch and apparently he'll make a great director. He learns quickly. I love the narrator's reaction to the choir. Their singing is almost enough to make up it if they don't make it to the conference on time. She would like to have some of her stylish clothes, though. I am thoroughly enjoying this. Great work in combining the homor and the narrator's sentimental side. judi

I love it!! When you broke down or came close, I got my idea for the chapter I'm going to write. You showed a vulnerable side, completely un Rebecca of Sunnybrook farm. I loved it. But, music is your muse and coping mechanism. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Well worth the wait. Gretchen
