This is a lovely way to explain the pain of loss and the comfort memories can bring - the sense that the loved one is not completely lost, but ever-present. Beautifully written!

Thank you, Sharon! I lost seven family members including my beloved husband in a matter of years. I am the oldest living family member and most of the younger ones could never understand - not yet. Their time will come unfortunately. For me, to face another tomorrow, I must believe that a part of them remains with me.

These are lovely suggestions for Nomi to share memories and moments with Yvonne. I know you have walked this path recently, so it's good of you to share your thoughts, in place of those of us who have not yet lost a spouse. Your words are peaceful and comforting. Blessings. Carol

This is a definite six star writing. I lost my husband almost 29 years ago to this day and it would've been such a blessing to get such comforting words as your words to Nomi, thank you so much for sharing this with us. And I wish him a very comforting and thoughtful day about his loving Yvonne. Patricia.

Thank you, Patricia. I lost my husband six years ago and sometimes I still struggle with his death. but I do know that he didn't leave me and that his love lives within me with our memories. I too wish I had been given the love and blessing that so many are sharing with Nomi. that's why I wanted to share these with him.

Thank you for sharing this very beautiful write for Nomi. He is a special person, and I know he'll cherish this. I also know he will be reunited with is wife at exactly the right time. Right how, now our prayers have helped God's healing to comfort him.

We've shared several messages between each other and I too know that everyone's thoughts and prayers are helping him. it's not a good place to be in but the help and love of others always tends to ease our struggle.

This is really good Carol. I know he is hurting and he is looking forward to what his fanStory friends are doing to encourage him and to share his grief. I've not seen a special book to contribute to. I assume her death was unexpected as what he wrote indicated she died in the night by his side.

Thanks, Beth. We've shared a few notes and he said that they had talked about life ending, but thought it would be him, not her. Regardless, as you know, it's a tough pill to swallow even when the worst is expected. I couldn't write a poem but I wanted to express my thoughts. I appreciate you reading and your kindness.

Dear Carol,
I wish this could be in the tribute book because the book has the eternal flame. This is beautiful nonetheless, and in prose, and will bless our dear Nomi exceedingly. Sending along my very best today as always.

Thank you so much, Sally. I thought the tribute book was just for poems and we all know a poet I am not. I wanted to express something because we have written notes to each other and I hope we've touched each other's heart. thank you for your kindness and for reading my post.

This was absolutely perfect. We know that the words really don't help but it's the love behind those words that will heal the pain and this was pure love. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you, Marilyn. I couldn't write a poem worthy of touching the love they shared, but I hoped that my post would bring a moment of comfort to him. I appreciate your kindness so much.

This story, Forever There, reminds the readers of the presence that remains when our loved ones have passed on. Our sense of touch is affected, but the rest remain to keep us connected.

Thank you, Bill. I was hoping that I could express my thoughts without stepping over the line with someone's grief. I've been there and so many others have too. It's like drowning and grasping for that lifesaver that will help us through the darkness. Thank you so much for the kind review.
