Lovely memorial poem and tribute to your mom and Halloween.
My mom was a wonderful seamstress too (part time). I miss my mom too, especially during the holiday, and she was a wonderful mental I'll advocate for me and others.

Hey Debi, this is a great celebration of mom and all she did for the nine of us. Most kids grew up without major demonstration of celebration. They may have celebrated Christmas but not like we did. Thanks for sharing with everybody happy Halloween sis.

Hahaha, you are so adorable (little) brother (by only a few days) Turning 70 seems like it should be grandma and grandpa's age, right? But they would be 125 by now. At least our minister grandpa would. OMGosh, Dan. I did not think about his birthday when I started saying this. Honest to God, I did not. And after I said that, I thought, huh, what is the date today and guess what? His birthday would have been today and he was born in 1895. I only brought him up because I can't believe I am this age. That was the strangest thing.
Thanks sweetie for the kind review and sweet six stars, and as Tommy Smothers always said, Mom always liked me best. LOL

Since you celebrated mom so well I just thought I would mention dad. I know you're fully aware that our father was formed December 2 1905. So that means in less than two months he would've been 119 years old. The points you made is a point I think of a lot. How in the world did I get to be 70? Even when I say it it doesn't make sense because I'm about 50 maybe not quite but almost lol you're welcome sis. I haven't been connecting with Facebook very much lately.

This is a lovely poem in tribute to your mother. It is always sad when we lose our mothers, but it's one of those things that happen inevitably. I am sure that if your mother were to read those words, she would be most blessed.

It's so hard to not have one's Mom around any more. There are times when simple things remind us of her. It sounds like she passed at a young age. I'm glad you were able to enjoy Halloween as a family with fun costumes and many pumpkins. Thanks for sharing. Prayers for comfort. Carol

Debi, even with just one B, you say the nicest things. This is a very special tribute to someone special in your life. Your words flow strong like the Mississippi (gee I hope I spelled that correctly.) There are not many, if any better poets on this site than you. A beautiful write from a beautiful friend to someone special.
May I offer a suggestion. In the final line of the second last verse, I'd consider changing 'me my choice' to 'me first choice.'
