Hi Karen, thank you for sharing this. Your poem is beautifully written in heartfelt lines and verses. Of special note:

Yet nothing's truly in our hands,
God stands at heaven's gate...

("He holds the whole World in His hands," indeed.)

A poem from the heart. Silky rhyming. Well done. It's good to see you in print again. Xo. Margaret ~ LateBloomer

    Thank you so much, Margaret.

Maybe this was my one poem/post for October... I have the muse with me so infrequently!

Six stars! You are very generous!

    Thank you and Blessings!

What a heartfelt poem. I'm so glad Wayne is getting better. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I had a mini-stroke years ago. It was a very scary thing. I'm so glad nothing worse happened. Well written poem.

    Thanks so much, Brenda!

Prayers continue for Wayne, and I had a TIA twice in the past...

    They can be quite frightening!

This excellently written poem shows the way God had his hand on Wayne.
My husband did not fare so well. He'd had several strokes with little effect, but just after he'd had a serious colon bleed about 6 years ago, he had another stroke that weakened his right side. With therapy, he has improved, but without a number of the skills he had before. I'm just really happy to still have him with me. Still God is with both of us.

Oh, Verna ~ I know many of us don't have a miraculous outcome...
I lost my mom at sixty from a brain aneurysm. I've now lived ten years longer than she ever had a chance to. God is with us all. It's not for us to understand right now -- but we keep the faith!

    Thanks,

This is such a marvelous poem you have written for Wayne and Rhonda's book. You tell his story perfectly. It is a wonderful miracle that he had that new app just in time to help him and was able to receive such a rapid response and lifesaving surgery within a couple of hours of his stroke. My prayers are with Wayne and Rhonda for his speedy recovery. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and hopeful poem.

    Thanks so much!

I'll pray these six stars right to Rhonda and Wayne!

It is an amazing blessing that his son installed that app just a week or so before this stroke.

    Prayers continue, miracles happen!

The poem is excellent for Rhonda and Wayne. I think there were some miracles happening that day. It was a miracle that the phone apt had just been installed and that the tractor stopped in the nick of time and that he was able to get out a message and his son saw it. The he stayed conscious, and they were able to get him to the hospital on time. All of that sounds almost impossible. God works in mysterious ways.

It is miraculous... We never know when we are "nudged" to do something just how much God directs us to listen!

So nice of you to review this, Beth.

I hope you are well this sunny Sunday!

    Thank you,

    All prayer warriors are welcome!
How amazing is this ~ getting that app installed, managing to text "help" - etc.

    Truly a blessing!

Now we see the hand of God moving toward the depth of our prayers. Now is the time for you to get alon with Jesus , just you and Him and ask what it is He wishes for you guys to do. This places the ball in his court and He will let you know. Sending blessings your way.

Your opening sentence is a summation of all I hoped to convey!

Prayer is never a demand. It is a humble assertion that we, in faith, trust in the will of our Loving God!

You open your beautiful poem with some very wise words, my friend:

We think we know our daily plans,
no thought of tempting fate...
Yet nothing's truly in our hands,
God stands at heaven's gate...

Truly, God is in control and He proves it time and again. Thank you for this and the ministry of healing, strength, hope ... to our dear friends, Rhonda and Wayne. God bless you, dear Karenina!
Love,
Sal XOs

This was a beautiful poem. Imagine the outcome had it not been for that app. It's frightening to think about. Good thing Wayne is a fighter. And good thing he went where they could help him. God is always with us during good times and bad. Beautifully written. Gretchen

There are no coincidences! I believe Wayne's son was divinely inspired to download the app that allowed quick coordinates to send first responders quickly!

    Prayers continue as Wayne recovers!

    Thank you,

    Hi Karenina,

I have a question; Are Wayne an Rhonda real people. There seems to be a bunch of you responding to the original poem. I think it's great.

Yes! Rhonda is a fine writer here...you'll find her work under "d" for "davisr" --

Her husband, Wayne suffered a strike while driving his John Deere tractor...

He was airlifted to Intensive Care by helicopter.

Read Rhonda's poem about it--it's truly amazing !
