I am owned by two cats, Minnie and Puma. I can relate to your words. I like the vivid descriptions of Claus, he was quite the cat. My female cat practices telepathy like you describe in your third verse and she is also my therapist like Claus was yours. Excellent tribute to your cat whose spirit still resides with you.

An excellent entry for the Share a Photo Poetry contest. Claus looks to be a precious kitty. I'm glad you got to share in his life for the time you did and I believe that our pets are our family and we will see them again one day...as you say, through the waterfall. Good luck in the contest.

    Hi Marilyn,

I appreciate your thoughts on our pets and agree wholeheartedly that they are family members and we will definitely be united with them again. It is a comforting thought that carries us through losing them. I firmly believe that too, Marilyn. Thanks for a wonderful review and for reading my work.

Great admiration for a cat, you're right, they do communicate. I witness a flock of birds eating bread crumbs. Above them was a watcher: whom sounded out an alert. Cat. Cat. Cat. I couldn't see it: then it appeared. Very interesting to me.

    Hi TPAC,

Yes, cats are so fun to study. They have it all, humor, comedy, tragedy and an inescapable ability to read minds. Canny little critters, they plan strategies as well to their advantage always, especially over the "lowly" dog. :-). Thank you for a grand review and thoughts as always.

    Have a wonderful week,

What a beautiful but heartbreaking post... Losing a fur-baby is like losing family...they become to much apart of us and our daily lives and it's painful when we must say goodbye. You did a wonderful job!
Smiles, Carol

    Hi, BeginAgain,
Good to hear from you! Thank you for such a lovely review and thoughts. Definitely miss my little critter, Claus. He really was my best friend and losing him was just like losing a child. Thank you for reading.

That was both beautiful and heartbreaking. I know exactly how you feel as I was lost when our dear Milsie died. People who have never owned a cat, (actually, had a cat own them) don't know what they are missing. I'm sorry you have lost yours now. I'm hoping we also meet up with our pets when we pass through that cloaked divide. Well done, and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

A delightful but poignant story about an intelligent cat well loved. Quite a pity you miss your cat. Animals can be wonderful friends and this cat seemed to have fulfilled that role. Well done, dear Senyai. Good luck in the contest.

A lovely tribute poem. Photo of Claus shows a younger cat who obviously had a good long life. Your poem is very well written and certainly heartfelt. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the competition.

I enjoyed this look into the world of an obviously well-loved cat, who is now sadly missed. It's never easy when they cross that rainbow bridge and move on to other things leaving us behind with our memories.

Sendai,
I'm so sorry you lost your beloved pet. What a lovely creature he must've been!
It's so sad losing a pet -- I've been through it a few times, but you can find comfort in cherished memories.
This is a great tribute to Claus!
Great last two stanzas.
I love this poem.
Best wishes,
Cindy
