I felt like I was sitting on a verandah and watching this as I read it. Rhyme is one of those things that people either like or they don't, when done well as you have here it adds to the poem rather than detract. Great work.

It makes me wish that I lived near a brook. When I was young our home was near a creek and as young boys, we spent a lot of time in or near the Tousaint creek. Your poem took me back.

What a wonderful poem. I love the way it rhymes and flows to completion of the story. The picture is an added bonus. You can almost here the brook bubbling as you are reading the story.

Again, you are giving us a picture of not only the earth but all the creatures that it supports. I love the story of the dragonfly. Occasionally, our backyard is filled with dragonflies - perhaps hundreds of them at once. It is always when the mosquitos are thick.
I had no idea there was so much action around a babbling brook! I'll have to visit one real soon:-)
