I am not trying to criticize you. Sandra is due all our love and prayers. Just to make this a more grammatically correct tale, you began in third person, then went to first person.
"Graham opens the door to a stranger standing on his stoop" should be in first person, such as: Graham opened his door and saw me, a stranger, on his stoop...anshe listened to he doctor.d should continue in first person. Also: "she listened to he doctor."-should be her doctor.
Sandra is worthy of our very best!
