Oh what a beautiful but sad poem. The story of their love is heart warming but this part of it is sad. Yet how beautiful to be together as she leaves the world. Great write. Thanks, Jeanette

I love the poem; you've encapsulated intense emotion within each phrase, line and verse. However, I found the timeline confusing as present seemed to turn to past and then return to present. Perhaps confused reflections of a reminiscing mind?

A very wonderful poem about a life time with the one he loved. She chose him, a man "good as better men". It is a touching story and emotional as well as strong with images. My only thought was the part that demons were waiting in the room. I only hope that there are angels waiting for me in my room. God bless.

The 'demon' bit was more about his demons re-surfacing as he faced life alone. I tweaked that slightly so it points more to him than his poor dying wife! Thanks so very much for an excellent review and for mentioning that little bit - it got me to do a bit of needed tweaking xoxoxoxoxo
