I like that imagery, "the twilight of history and age," in your title. It gives a very visual scene of motion. That nothing is static in history or age and we must move with it, adapt, in order for the species to continue. A very thought provoking piece.

I think our twilight years should be spent putting truth on paper -- while it still exists. I look forward to reading the following installments of this. Actually as I was driving to a local writers meeting this morning I was thinking of doing an acrostic Write from the Heart. Then I discover this, but if I try something I think it would go a different direction.

Can we now withdraw leaving you to explore the foreign but new roads of life,
How will we stand, lead us by hand as the days grow dimmer and cold.
This generation is yours, the past we endured to bring you up to this day.

I love how you express the passage of time, changes an evolution of history itself. Great images and philosophical food for the mind.
But determined,we each have our travels through the vistas of life, and, if our paths should perchance meet, well, perhaps we may travel together for a time...

This generation is yours, the past we endured to bring you up to this day.
Is very significant. It warns us this is our time; that by sacrifice, others have given us this time--but this time is our time, and what we make of it while we tread on our way impacts on the past, present and future.
Good thought-provoking stuff; Well done.
