A proud and respectful tribute to the brave sons and daughters who sacrifice so willingly to keep us free and safe. I loved the strong cadence and good rhymes in this. And the beautiful flag picture sets it off splendidly too. Be proud.

You have good imagery and good rhythm and rhyme all through your poem-you are descriptive about how a soldier has seen death and fought and is now ready to return home--I like where you write(Remember that thousands-still serve gallantly) a thought provoking write--great job.

Actually this is exceptional but I've used all of my exceptional ratings. I appreciate this poem because my father once served in the army and he fought in the Korean War. Even though I was only 6-7 years old at the time, we were very glad when he finally came home to stay. He often told us of his war stories. Wonderful Salute to the Military Forces serving to keep our country safe.

--"Never again will I stray. "
What if you're called back to active duty? Will you refuse?
--Nice rhymes and rhythmic flow.
--"We fought, and some perished,
left their blood in that land. "
Gruesome imagery.
--"sent letters to families
describing their deaths."
Not a pleasant task.
--Nice patriotic poem.

I really appreciate your kind and positive review. Thank you. I am not a soldier, but a great-grandmother who has a granddaughter serving now, and multitudes of brave relatives who fought for all of us. Even though we are not from the same country, each soldier feels the same about serving their families and friends.

well much as I am totally opposed to the war that was triggered by a blatant lie by Messrs Bush and Blair, I found this a most upliting poem

I really appreciate your kind and positive review. Thank you. Wars are begun for many reasons. The soldiers do not declare war, but must offer their service and often their lives. Thanks again.
