This has a nice mono-rhyme. I like the feeling of comfort in both the ice cream and the soft white sheets. They seem related. The imagery throughout the poem is vivid. I can almost smell the sea breeze and hear the call of the gulls. Best regards, Jeanie Mercer

Very nice sincere poem. Deepwater, you wrote another good one. Evoked many memories of being a younger man. Great job! Keep writing!

Nicely metered aa/aa poem on best childhood memories.
I really enjoyed reading this - the rhyme and rhythm helped.
Wonderful childhood memories -
And the last line:

"Soft white sheets on my bed as I drift off to see the wonders, so free."

Perfect. I felt like I was there.
Well done.

To deepwater,
An expressive poem taking in the adventures as a child while experiencing the wonders of God's creation as he slumbers off to sleep thinking of the next time filed with fun and enjoyment.

That picture is so endearing. Is that you? I feel nostalgic just looking at that black and white photo, thinking of those by-gone days.

If I dare but see through the eyes of a child, what would it be?
Long hot summers on a beach with warm winds blowing off the sea.

Life amazing when viewed by a child, through his rose-colored classes.

A very refreshing poem

A poem about the memories of childhood, especially the days on the beach with the family, you captured the mood really well, with great expression , I enjoyed the soft white sheets at the end when you collapse exhausted into bed, a great poem

Beautifully written, captures those little moments of joy on the beach through the eyes of a child. Rhymes flow so naturally, picture to compliments It well. Regards hargunanand

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

"But best is the ice-cream" is a brilliantly composed mono rhyme poem with nicely chosen words that could cause a reader's mind to see the whole picture
of the intended meaning precisely and concisely. I enjoy reading it.

Nostalgic and filled with precious childhood moments 'best is the ice-cream' the simpler and most enjoyable childhood activities that seem to have disappeared from the radar !
