Teachers are a cornerstone of our lives and should have way more respect than what they receive. I do like that this poem touches on that and expresses it eloquently and without being preachy at the same time

I don't want to pour cold water on your achievement of winning this contest, but I am quite surprised to see that it won, because only half of the poem is the acrostic. The prompt specifically says, "... use the letters of that word for the first letter of each line in your poem." The operative words being each line of your poem. Anyway the bit that is acrostic is good and I particularly liked the H for Homework line.

Teaching is hard but we always have those couple teachers that deserve everything good in life. I had one teacher that I still keep in touch with and I actually saw her today. You did a great job with this

While not all teachers put in the effort, I believe that most do or they would not have gone into the profession. Teachers often do not get enough credit for how they shape our future through our children.
