An absolutely delightful poem for children, and us all. There is so much possibility in 'working' with a caterpillar/butterfly piece. I love the repetition because kids go for that. I also think it was a nice touch that you used a scientific word, chrysalis. I'm glad you didn't bombard it with them though.

Thank you, Jenny. No, one scientific word is enough for them to master at a time. When a child asks what that word means, the parents can explain in a magical way, because that's what it is, magic. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you! :)

The author's words are joyful, interesting, fun and creative. This is
a perfect poem for children - I enjoyed it very myself. The poem flows
and connects well. The artwork is exceptional and comments these words.

Really cute poem. Little kids would love the singsong rhythm and the illustrations are really cute. It would make a cute book. Is that in your plans? It sounds like something I'd have had in my class when I taught preschool.

Thank you, Susan. I've had so many reviewers ask if it will be published, I have a few more children's poems on here, so I might just put them all into a picture book. Thank you for such a lovely review. :)
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written rhyming poem for children that starts with the caterpillar seeking his mom, but no-one seems to see her passing by as a caterpillar but they definitely saw her passing by as a butterfly.

I love it! This brought a smile to my face as I read it. Not only does it display perfect rhyme, it is educational as well, which is always a good thing in children's poetry.

Sandra,
This is a cute story about how bugs don't understand that in mom is a butterly and not a caterpillar. He should of described his mom to them.
Maybe he didn't realize his mom changed to a butterfly until he did.
I like all the illustrations.
Keep writing and stay healthy

What a lovely rhyming poem for children, and how beautifully illustrated. You must get it published! It is perfect with its repetition, and its teaching of information about caterpillars and butterflies, its rhythm and flow. Good wishes for the contest.

This is such a joyful presentation for the contest. I expect children would adore this poem and your artwork has added to the magic here. A tuneful melodic metre and fine rhymes too, a pleasure to read and I reckon you have a winner here, love Dolly x
