For a child under eight, this catchy piece of composition should be well-received but for grown-ups some articles mentioned are off the charts. Some finishing lines seems too finished. idk. That's my opinion. Good luck.

This is well written, well composed, and presented. I like
the whimsical and playfulness of your writing. The rhymes
work well without feeling forced. Well done!

Stu,

I thought this piece was a TON o' fun! I can't imagine a single child anywhere who wouldn't hear this and say, 'READ IT AGAIN!' hahahaha It's a silly mess - for sure. But it's a fun mess. I like it A LOT! Thanks and good luck!

Well, this was silly and funny. I think children over 5 years will be able to pull the fun from this more than those under that age--but it's still for kids. Enjoyable and a nice break from a lot of melodrama that ends up income poems. Best of luck.

Haha, what a fun contest entry, Stuart. I enjoyed
the whimsy of it, the rhymes, the smooth flow,
and the repeated phrases. Your poem reads in
a fun bouncy way sure to entice kids to listen
and enjoy it. I can imagine them repeating parts
of it, too.
Best wishes, Jan

This kind of reminded me of Jabberwocky with all the silly word in it. This should do well in the Children's poetry contest voting booth. Very nice job. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed reading your contest entry. It was fun to read. I taught first grade for twenty-six years. This poem would probably play better with upper elementary. Good luck with the contest.

Thanks so very much.....you are right....this is a bit hodgey podgey...maybe for a little older kids....the purpose of these...is to get kids to play with words and make up their own stuff...

Godspeed to you and yours.....Thanks again Stu Harrell
