Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

What a trooper, still writing in the midst of a horrible Covid experience. You truly are a writer through and through and must find inherent joy in the writing life. Well done. Keep resting and get well.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Thank you, Theodore, for this. I know, I'm addicted to writing, but at least it takes my mind off Covid. Thank you, my friend. Sandra xx

Hi Sandra. wow what a great story many twists and turns and well written
I have at last caught up the chapters and enjoyed them all so forgive me for not rating them all (they would all get a six from me anyway)
My interest in your story while reading is such that I don 't look for spags

By this time any disbelief on the part of your readers will be suitably suspended so I think the self elevating poke will be understood all round.

An excellent episode. I have just a coup-le of thought for your Covid-befuddled brain:

'Good evening, Smith...' Is he using the more usual spelling of the solicitor's name as a put-down or is it an error on your part? I am not sure which. We find out later but I think we should be prepared perhaps:

'The atmosphere cooled to somewhere below freezing. Roger Crankston-Smythe was already regretting his decision to come. The solicitor leapt to his feet and held out his hand, withdrawing it moments later when he realised it was being snubbed, as Brandon deliberately mis-pronounced his name, "Good evening, Smith. Now, what is so important that it couldn't wait until morning? I don't have much time to spare, so make it quick."

Ignorant bastard! Roger ignored Lord Brandon's deliberate insult; it was just another of the unpleasant man's uncouth traits.'

'Okay, jokes over....' Needs an apostrophe - joke's (joke is over).

'There (is) [are] no such thing[s] as ghosts!'

'... and wants her father[']s good name restored.' >> Possessive apostrophe needed.'

Get well soon! Hasn't Bessie got a suitable potion for you?

Thank you so much for these edits, Jim, I've made all the corrections, and taken up your suggestions. I asked Bessie, but no, she suggested I ask Gwendolyn!!! Lol.
Sending you a big hug for the golden star, with these edits, you were quite within my laws to give me a five and a half!! Lol. Hope to chat tomorrow of Tuesday. :)) Sandra xxx

What a pile up! I'm glad he wasn't hurt, but how he escaped without losing his life, amazed me!

It was indeed and what a wonderful race afterwards. I think you will have been satisfied with the outcome. Glad you were well enough to enjoy it.

Yes, I was coughing a lot, but it was worth it. I knew it would be a good one, and it really was. I think Hamilton's car is on the mend, and from now on the racing will be amazing to watch. xxx

And it is Austria next week. I sincerely hope you will be feeling better by then.

Another fine chapter of entertaining dialogue between Bessie and Margot. The threads of the story are coming together nicely. Most enjoyable. Sorry to hear you've not been well.
A few nits, as you suspected...

'She said she had written proof of what we've done, and wants her father(')s good name restored.'

I don't know what Meg will think, I mean, they weren't close by a long shot! (Two sentences, perhaps?)

It also makes me wonder if the contents of this letter is (are) the underlying reason my mother has behaved the way she has.

I'm so grateful for this, Tony. My head just wasn't up to doing that edit. I've made the corrections. I don't think I'll be doing much writing for a day or so.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, and the golden star, I really appreciate them both. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

What a lovely ending tease! I don't know how Margot is going to fair when she returns to her own time (assuming she does) Now she knows how it feels to have a soulmate and wonderful lover, life is going to be very empty without him!
Another intriguing, beautifully written chapter, and I can't wait to see what Miles thinks of the contents of Bessie's parcel.

Thank you so much, Alexis, for reading this chapter. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You're right about how she would feel when she goes back to her own timeline. But Meg must be allowed to live her life, if they are able to save it. Thank you so much for the sixth lovely star, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

-I hope you are better very soon, Sandra. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
-You did an excellent job with the chapter, and I was surprised to see it so early!
-I like the progression from the visit by Smythe and his attempt to explain the visit of Mistress Crawley and the ghost of his father. You did a good job describing Lord Brandon, too.
-Bessie's reaction and her actions are priceless. I think she is only getting started!!
-A good discussion between Bessie and Margot, and quick thinking by Bessie to keep Miles from leaving.
-The plot thickens, as they say!!
