Lol! You're a wise man, Terry! Enjoyed the humor that you injected in an otherwise potentially unpleasant conversation. Yet, you show how to keep a happy marriage despite all the cat puke!

really cute and well written. The use of words was perfect and simple. The piece flowed and was very enjoyable. You came up with really good ideas that most people can identify with but have never found words for.

This is a humorous story that proves you have to be prepared to clean up every time, if you have a cat that pukes. It seems as though your wife always had a card to play. This is a great story for wives. Always be prepared to win.

I might step it (I might step 'in' it)

As you well know, I love a smile at the end of the day ... and this one is great!

My first though was 'What is wrong with the cat?" Then I realized I know nothing about cats. I have heard my daughter talk about 'fur balls' but I am not sure about that either and was never curious enough to ask.

Every reader can identify with this story and substitute their own annoyance for the cat. I love it. Good writing; good character development; good scene design; very, very well done.

I do have two spag issues -- you may agree or not:

Or not, one could discover I WOULD PUT A PERIOD AFTER 'NOT' AND BEGIN A NEW SENTENCE WITH 'ONE'

it is not my area of expertise I WOULD CHANGE 'IT IS' TO 'THAT'S' or 'DOGS ARE'

Terry, you are becoming better and better at humor writing. Sometimes your posts remind me a bit of Andy Rooney. ann

This is hilarious my friend, I like the supposition when satisfying lovemaking precedes an unsavoury core arises, the wife is eternally grateful, judging by my locker room experiences when I was playing competitive sport, this is a very male.perception, heh heh. Beautifully written Terry, I'll bet you wouldn't show to your wife, if she was around...not bed favours tonight. Blessings Roy
Query: Discarding or disgorging? Typo : I might step (in) it.

It was tongue in cheek, I think good wives need a sense of humour,

Yes, it seemed like your kitty had your number. Maybe she and
your wife plotted together, Terry. I got a good laugh with the
back and forth between you and your wife as who would clean
up the mess. It seemed your wife must've taken a negotiating
class in college. I can relate to the throw up. Most of the time,
I've heard the hacking at night and wondered just where I'd find
the treasure in the morning. But all in all, I still loved my kitties.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

HAHAHAHAHA!! Oh, how this story resonates with the Allens' household. Ever since we adopted Flurry Allen (age not-even-a-year; she is now 17), she has had vomit issues. Her vet informed us, when I sought help for what I was sure was some monstrous affliction, "Nothin's wrong with her. She's just a puker. Some cats are just pukers. MY cat's a puker," he admitted. Like, HUH?!

The difference between our house and yours, though, is that it is ALWAYS my responsibility to clean up the puke because my husband (G-d made him handsome for a reason) "doesn't really like" Flurry Allen, so that absolves him from everything Flurry Allen-related. That I counter this argument with, "But it was YOUR SON who picked her out!!" does not faze him. because (a) said son ended up being allergic to little Flurry Allen, and (b) the kid's been emancipated for ten years now.

I believe I will be making a copy of this wonderful article, though, because it may just change the course of Allen Family puke-removal history. Stay tuned.

GREAT laughs from start to finish, Terry. I loved this very much.

This is a very well written story you have penned about marriage and how to determine who cleans up the cat throw up! We have several cats and they do end up throwing up fur balls at times. We finally took them to the vet and she gave us some med to put on them that helps them not to throw up. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with a picture of the beautiful cat. Thank you for sharing! Teri

I got a laugh out of this. I am not married, but I can relate. My mother and I are amazed that my dad will point out dog messes, but he refuses to clean them. Thanks so much for sharing, and for giving me possible arguments. :)
Best wishes to you.
