I enjoyed this take off on one of my favorite poems as well. I think we all were introduced to this poem at around the same age and grew to love it. Your version was very creative. The artwork is lovely and I like the way you used a black background and bright different colored text font to mimic the tree branches. Very creative.

Hi Marilyn, I thank you so very much for the lovely review for my Trees poem. I was happy when Gypsy used this as a club event. It was fun going all the way back to third grade for the Trees poem. (Big Smile!) I appreciate all of your kind words. Thanks again, my very dear friend. (Hugs!)

Having never read poetry and still not knowing the first thing about it, my thoughts sort of mimic your fine poem's words. I've come to enjoy and appreciate your melodic verses and the fine fellowship of lovely people. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I had ten lovely stars to give this, my friend! I just love it! Yes, in the Bible a tree is synbolic for mankind. "...And the trees of the fields shall clap their hands." Beautifully written and illustrated with your own roots digging deep in the Lord's creation of you and your love of poetry. Magnificent, precious friend!
Sending you my best today as always and love and blessings across the miles.

I love this poem - tender, sensitive, humorous, heartfelt. It contains all the emotions that toss around in the hearts of us writers before they end up on a page. Then we all get to share in the poet's joy or hardship.

Debi, your well-written poem in support of trees is nicely done. Some of us have different experiences with trees. My buddy Carl, for example. When he left for medical school, his brother told him he would take care of his '57 Chevy Bel Air, yellow and black. But Ray left the window down, and some leaves from a pecan tree rotted his seat covers. Dang, tree! Good job. Terry.

LOL. Ok, Terry, I know you're not serious and that you are pulling my leg here. But just in case anyone else is not familiar with this classic poem and the meaning of it, I added some notes to my poem. Plus a song from Patti Page, and another stanza from college writing. I took it out when I thought my poem was too long, but realized it was missing something. Anyway thanks so much for the fun review. Love, Debi

Good morning, Debi,
Such a loving tribute to your muse, Joyce Kilmer. I, too, enjoyed her poetry as a child, and I continue to marvel at her use of the poetic voice to make us look at nature differently. Thank you for sharing,

Hi Patty, you are so very sweet. And I love that you too loved this poem.
LOL, I used to think that Joyce Kilmer was a woman too, but actually he is a man. As a woman who has a mom and a sister named Joyce, I know that is kinda peculiar. But he wrote this one in 1913 so you never know from way back then.
Thanks again, Patty and I sure appreciate your very kind review. Love, Debi

Oh, man!!! I did know that he was a man - I can't believe I forgot that - it was something we talked about in one of my high school classes - oh...that's why I forgot - that is over 50 years ago!!!

Debi, I am left in awe by your heartfelt poem. It is well written and beautiful, not just in form, though that is present in such beauty, but in its endearing message. Joyce Kilmer would be proud of you. I'm proud of you. Brilliant from start to finish. Love the part about making friends for life!
Much love,
Rhonda

Rhonda, you are so very sweet. And I am afraid that there were a couple parts that were accidentally left out when you read it. I had another stanza about college writing, notes about the true meaning of the poem, Trees, and a song by Patti Page called Trees. I am always thinking of things I had forgotten until later. So thank you with all my heart for the sweet review and comments and the six stars, my wonderful friend. You are the best. Someday I will get you back!! Lotsa Love, Debi

I think you obviously like writing, and rhyme is your poetic bag. Although you've add some great alliterations, woven within your super poem that gives adds to the spice in the narrative dear Debi, well done, blessings Roy

Thanks Roy, I left out serious needed parts, such as notes explaining what the meaning of Trees was about, human feelings and plus a stanza from my college writing, and a song by Patti Page called Trees. Thats an oldie. So thanks for the kind comments for this one, dear friend. Love, Debi
