Oh, I just KNEW you would do something brilliant today!! And, of course, you did NOT disappoint! What a fascinating story. Mary is more disciplined than I would EVER be. Very impressive, indeed!! I was a little disappointing that it sold for only 200 pounds at auction. Its backstory alone should have made it double that.

WONDERFUL read!! Happy Easter, Deb.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, Elle! She was much more disciplined than me too. Chocolate is my daily diet:)) The story stood out in our local news and I just couldn't resist it. Hope you're having a great Easter Day with Bobby. Deb xoxoxo

What's your particular favorite chocolate in which to indulge, Deb? Myself, peanut butter cups are my Kryptonite. One is too many; ten hundred million gazillion are not enough. I also love Heath bars. And when I was young, my favorite indulgence was Mallo-cups. Mmmm. I'm salivating.

Bobby was at his tax office, beginning at 7 this morning, but next year, he'll be able to celebrate Easter because it doesn't arrive until April 20th, and taxes are done as of April 15th. Myself, it means nothing, since I'm Jewish.

I love ginger-flavoured chocolate (Green and Blacks organic). Dark as opposed milk. Do you have Easter eggs there or is it a European thing? Michelle Harber has written a brilliant true story about guilt-laden feasting in a Jewish family. Do try and read. It reminded me of you xo

I read it already and reviewed it. She said I was the only one who found it funny; the Gentiles just thanked her for all the interesting tidbits about Jewish eating customs!!! LOL. I'll go read your review. It's obvious you got its REAL meaning.

Ginger-flavored chocolate? MMMM!! I've never had it, but oy, does it sound scrumptious...though I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate. I mean, if I HAD to eat it, I'd certainly comply and all...

Yes, Easter eggs are a part of Easter here, as well. I did boil three up for Bobby, who loves eggs that way. But we get the farm-fresh variety (from one of my piano students, no less!) and they're brown, so I can't dye them. And for SURE I'm not about to hide them. I don't trust I'd remember where exactly I cleverly put them, and then oy! Catastrophe at the Allens'!

What a fascinating story, Debbie, and I'm already out of sixes!! I can't believe a girl wouldn't open it, even for a lick? LOL I couldn't be a strong as your 'aunt?' As for the sale, when you look at the price of chocolate eggs these days, £200 was a bargain for that bit of history! I really enjoyed reading this story in a poem, especially as it was true. Well done, my friend. Happy Easter. Sandra xx

Thank you so much, Sandra, for your kind and thoughtful review which I greatly appreciate! Yes, it should have fetched more, especially as I think the money was going to charity. Happy Easter to you too. Debbie xx
