This is fun, Debi, and a lovely verse to get folk in the holiday mood! Your monorhymes, as ever, are an absolute delight to read and the visual a treat. We've had our 'bank holiday' last weekend, accompanied, as usual, by rain:( Hopefully, your weekend will fare better. My best wishes too for an improvement in your health. Love Debbie

Thanks so very much, Debbie, for the delightful honor of your six stars, beautiful review and lovely comments. You are so sweet and especially since you aren't real sure about ours, but I am guessing it may be comparable to your bank holiday. We get three or four days off and then people do whatever they want with it. When our kids were little we always went to the beach and camping. Of course we just got back from our family vacations where we did that for a week so we stayed home. Like I would go anywhere with this eye anyway. But the weather here was the best we have had in years for the weekend. It was nice to stay home. So thanks so much for the amazing review, my dear friend. Love, Debi

A fun tribute poem to our end-of-summer holiday, when we salute all those who labor. That picture sure is nostalgic; it reminds me more of the 60s and 70s when I spent time with my sisters in Indiana, and we'd have cookouts at the park on holidays. When my kids were growing up, our labor days were spent at parades, family watergun fights, and getting together with other families for the day.

I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with your own family, Debi:-)

Hey Pam, I loved the nostalgia of the car too. Reminded me of when I was young. And a little of with our kids when they were young.

I truly appreciate your lovely comments for the Labor Day poem. I thought it was time since I never saw one on here before.

Hey when it is time for our birthday this year, do you think we can lean on each other for this one? Seventy just doesn't seem right to me. LOL
Better than the alternative, I guess.

Thanks again, dear birthday twin, Lotsa Love, Debi

I'm having a lot of trouble with 70, to be honest. Which brings me to something I wanted to ask of you: don't write a birthday poem for me this year. You've done so the last two years - and that's been very sweet of you - but I really want to fly under the radar on this one.

Lean on each other? You bet! And everyone else who can prop us up and get us through this bump in the road, lol:-)

We'll get through it, sis - like everything else.

How's the Covid battle going? I hope you're finally feeling better.

    xoxo

When my children were young and (of course I was too) we would go camping on all the holidays and it was great fun! those days are gone now but your poem brought back so many memories. Very well done and loved! Have a fantastic week-end.
Smiles, Carol

Our labour day holiday is in October, as is my birthday, my wife and two grands. Yes, the labour day celebrates those who've built our respective nations with their own hands, as you you have built this beautifully written Poem Debi, wonderfully written, blessings Roy

Dear Roy, so yours is not the bank holiday that I have been hearing so much about? Since that was last week, and like you said your birthday is in October. And if I remember right, it is on the 10th. So that is cool that it falls on your birthday.

I truly appreciate your lovely comments for the Labor Day poem. I thought it was time since I never saw one on here before.

Thanks again, dear friend. Love, Debi

What a great way to celebrate the holiday weekend. Your poem brings memories of Labor Days past~all the fun things to do, a last hurrah before school and work begin, the end of summer and a fresh start. I love the presentation and the nostalgia--have a safe one, Debi, thanks for sharing.

An uplifting poem about enjoying a long weekend Debi. We have a bank holiday last weekend and there were celebrations in Lichfield with the Bower and a Food festival. I hope you enjoy the break, a fine poem to pay tribute to the holiday.

Suggestion for this line for the sake of metre:
(Too many women and (some) men)

Hi Dolly, I love that I keep hearing about the Bank Holiday and I had never heard of it before. So I will have to google that when I am done here and look it up and learn more. I am always fascinated by your country.

WOOHOOO bring on the BBQ! your celebration sounds fun. We have a yearly family get together at our family homestead in Maine. We usually have 50-60 people show up and a good time is had by all. Thanks for sharing.

LOL! This one made me smile and laugh Debi. The picnic brought back memories of childhood. And the poem is so in tune with this week. Labor Day is always such a bummer because it means the end of summer! Keep up the good work!

Hi Harry, oh well I am kinda happy to see the temps cool down a bit, but I do know what you mean. I do hate to see summer leave and look onto winter too soon.

Yes, Debi. A great poem for the season. I too hate to see summer end. My favorite time of the year!
