What a wonderful image! Those children have put a smile on my face already:) Your precisely 20 syllable verse perceptively captures the infectious exuberance of the young at play. Just like a yawn, the cheer is irresistibly transmitted! Well done and good luck! Debbie

Mystery Poet,
Or it could be that they suck you into it. Our three sons and grandchildren have that way about them. Childlike joy is infectious. A sweet and fun 20 syllable poem and beautifully illustrated.
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.
Sally Law :)) xoxo

The title got my attention. Then the picture of the children and the dogs with big smiles on their faces. Your poem definitely reads of the value of children playing especially outside in a warm season. Great job in creating the 20 syllables
writing prompt contest entry.

Especially when there's puppies and mud involved and it's happening at my son's house so his house gets all muddied up. Ha!
Great poem in only 20 syllables that speaks a whole lot of truth.
Best of luck in the contest...

Children are so innocent and care-free, as they grow, learn, experiment, and enjoy each other and life. As adults, we've lost some of their zest for life, but watching them play can momentarily restore our joy. Your picture and poem provide a powerful message. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a wonderful poem and presentation! The syllable count is good with a perfect supporting image. I know this message well because I was a teacher for most of my life. Especially when I taught younger children, there was much joy and with teens too.
I joke that I never worked a day in my life because I enjoyed teaching so much.
Best wishes
Alex

This twenty-syllable poem, Watching Children Play, has the proper formatting and reminds me to talk to my grandchildren today and suck up some of their joy.

Hahaha, Bill, I think I could write another one that says, "For joy and laughter, one needs only to read reviews written by Bill." (Syllables not counted) but the laughter you gave me sure counted. Thanks a million, my friend. Hahahahahaha!!!!!
