Good rhyming poem that I enjoyed. Good message extended, that we keep
procrastinating, some times too long. Good picture in nice setting.
I enjoyed your quatrain poem nice flow and rhyme.
Well done. Good luck. Frankeddy

Exactly. All the things we meant and longed to do, all the adventures we never had.
You captured them all in your terrific poem.
Well crafted, no problems or suggestions.
Good luck in the contest.

I can relate to the poem. My husband was going to take me to Hawaii for our 25th wedding aniversary. We have now been married 50 years and I still am waiting.

Wanhow, perhaps this 50 year mark would be a good time to remind him! :_) Thanks for your review. Brooke

Alas, how many of us fail to use our
tickets to enjoy the life spread before
us? Your poem addresses all those missed trips
to exciting places, opportunities that pass.
I enjoyed this very much! Carolyn

Sometimes we just can't let go. We work and live and time never gives way until we hit an age where we no longer have to be the main source of income. Then we live our dreams.

Hi Brooke! Your quatrain is excellent in the rhyming and the rhythm. The presentation is great. I especially liked "But when day of departure
for every journey came,
I failed to use my ticket --
no summits can I claim.

adewpearl,
I loved this one!! Many readers will be able to identify with "I meant to...." It is a phrase which too many of us use as we get older. Maybe your work will encourage some of us to "get with it". Thanks. elaine

I found my yearning passion,
a testament to faith,
huddled deep inside my head,
transparent as a wraith.
I fed it inspiration,
it drank of prose's wine,
and slowly I made poetry
from what had been decline.
Sometimes a breeze still infiltrates
and blows my passion through,
but mostly I'm opaque these days
and that is down to you;
The glorious ones who read my words
and shore me every day.
It's you who give my passion faith;
I just wanted to say.

Hi Brooke this is lovely, expressing so many things we mean to do. I always say when my hubby says I haven't got time. 'Make time' Lovely rhyming Cheers Gaye
