You really built the suspense with the events of this story, Crol. Thinking affairs, unemployment, poor Margie gatting fired, and Shelly ready to throw up, the ending was an interesting twist. - John

    Jude,

Me too! I wouldn't have laughed until much later I fear..right after I knocked a few heads togther. I was butting my own head against a wall trying to figure where I wanted the second chapter of Mistaken Identity to go and set out to write a bit of humor..Guess the doom and gloom still got the best of me...Smiles, Carol

Man, you are so much better than I am, and the character is too! I would not have been good enough to accept that rough of an April Fool's. May be it is my self esteem, but that was Brutal! I would have turned and walked out. Not that I cannot take a joke, but that was a little over the top when you are stressed out and planning a wedding. Good writing and good job.

What an elaborate ruse for them to all plan together - and here I sure was believing she was just having the worst possible day EVER! I love the way the bad news piles on bit by bit, from the trivial news of her favorite sandwich off the menu to the distinct possibility of losing her job to evidence her best friend and fiancee are screwing around! You sure had me fooled, Carol :-) Brooke

    Brooke,

I was attempting to write the second chapter to Mistaken Identity and the doom and gloom just wouldn't come today...so I decided to have a bit of fun...at Shelly's expense. Nice thing about writing..no one really gets hurt. Thanks for the kind review...Smiles, Carol

Hi Carol, I don't think I would be laughing at a joke like that. It was cruel. It was a well written story and fun to read but I was angry at the end that they took that far. I didn't see any spag.

What a wicked April Fool's joke!

I suppose I shouldn't talk. Our baby was nearly six months old when one particular April Fools day came around. When I woke my husband up for the day, I told him I was pregnant.
The look on his face was priceless. What he said made me re-think the humor:

"You had me damned if I did and damned if I didn't. If I was happy, you'd be sad because you weren't pregnant. If I was sad, you would be disturbed thinking I didn't want the baby. Bad choice of jokes, Babe!"

Hi Carol,

Here I was expecting to read Kate and Rob were having an affair! Once again you have an unexpected twist at the end. Love this story and wonder how Shelly gets even. Well done. Blessings, chey

OMG I never saw that ending coming! What a horrible prank to play on someone! I'm glad that's all it was. Poor girl, she was sure having a bad day! Great story -- you kept me hooked.
