Hah! "Honey-do" lists are a real bitch Stevie. This poem was a huge amount of fun to read. Fortunately, my hubby is retired. But, you make a great point that what we do outside of a job IS a job LOL! Rhythm worked fine for me. It seemed to be the natural flow of conversation as opposed to anything forced by a formal meter. I enjoyed - a lot! Hugs, Sue

Thanks, Sue.
A lot of people felt the same way about the list - it just seems especially long at the moment.

I dearly love this poem. It brings back so many memories of the farm. Times I look back on with fond memories. Your words flowed so smoothly and your abab rhyme scheme made this funny and exciting to read. God bless always.

In my neck of the woods, we call the warrant an inspection and we only have to do it once a year.
This is a great poem, I can connect with it pretty well. I may be a city girl now (If you can call Morgantown a city), but I do my share of canning and I've put my hours in on Grandma's farm as a kid; weeding, baling hay, shoveling manure. ;)
This poem is delightful and I really enjoyed reading! Great work!

Ha Ha,,,very funny. I enjoyed the read from start to finish. Although I don't have chickens or goats to tend to, I have plenty of other things to do, so guess I better get busy!

I really don't even enjoy poetry but I loved this. Too bad it's probably pretty close to the truth for every one of our farmers. Not enough hours in the day. The poetry is clever, makes one smile and wrapped up with a terrific ending. Thanks for posting this terrific piece of work. Hi to SWMBO. Ha

Lol I love this it sounds like my day without the farm work that is. I don't work anymore but I seem to be way more busy now then I ever was when I did work. Love it.

Phew...and what a list this is. Welcome to home ownership and life lol... This is so full of relatable situations. Many a smile and head knodding in this one from me.
Fun, mirthful and a reminder of why at times I'm so tired lol..

Thanks, Melissa - head-nodding from a few other people too.
And then I look at our two cats, flat out sleeping all day long - what a life!

Good job!
Sounds like the character in this piece either has his hands really full around his place or is one hell of a procrastinator!
I enjoyed reading this write. I found it to be amusing.
For the most part the lines flowed well together. The rhymes in each stanza did not seem forced.
Nice write!

And you still have time to write rhymes? You slacker, you!
Love this, Steve. Just coming up with that list of very believable chores would have been enough to put me in a santorium.
Excellent, Steve.
Peace, Lee

I really celebrate your unemployment with you. You've got more than enough in your hands already, any addition could be a pathway to the sick bay, LOL!. Good work in this, full fun and humor.
