I loved this poem! To see from a child's eyes would be amazing! How carefree and spirited a child's mind can be/and is. You captured the words wisely. I really enjoyed it. I love poems with children as the focus:))

You certainly chose a rejuvenating topic. It brought back memories of my childhood and the vacations by the sea.
Even in my adult life the sea has always been the pace w here I resort to just to relax a bit. Good poem but the rhythm could flow more readily

You bring back memories I cherish. I like the line about mother up to the knee, not deep. I don't feel anything when I reach the end. I wish there was some angst. Little in life is perfect. When I relive those moments on the beach I remember my brother teasing me, the water ruining the castle, the sand in the sandwich. Thanks for the memories. Your phasing was wonderful.

Hi Deepwater, I think this poem resonates with many adults who still remember a lazy day at the sea and the ice cream that went with it. It's funny that even for a child it's special to get away from home and spend some time at the water's edge. Well penned. luv jada

I feel that many children would feel this way. My two did when we went to the beach. Oh my, the sand castles, the water but not too deep, and the ice cream was always the best! Talk about sleep, probably the best they ever had. Great memories, and even today, these should stay in the eyes of a child. Beautifully written. . .Sharon
