this is an interesting piece of poetry dear kim and very much informative. i think alaska and lapland have the same kind of mentalities raisen. if the weather doesn't really allow you to live another way, compromise.

    Hi Rebekka,

Yep, that is pretty much the way of it. You have to be resilient and whatever is thrown at you. The last time we had a major power outage due to an ice storm (a year and a half or so ago) our power was out for 5 days. We finally broke down and bought a generator, it was November and keeping the heat on seemed kind of important lol Thanks for the great review.

A very good nove otto. I like the sound of easy-paced life in Alaska. Sounds just my cup of tea. I long for the old days, too.

You spoke of a picture, but one doesn't show. 8-)

I'm not sure why that released. I was still editing and hadn't released it yet. Do me a favor and check again? Thanks for taking the time to read and review.

Nah, the site glitches all the time. My laptop crashed today :( I took it in to get repaired.) Want to know how 'slow paced' things are? It took like 5 hrs for Microsoft Office to load onto my hubby's desktop computer so I can use it for a few days lol Yes, my download speeds are THAT slow! And now it is 1:20 am.... time for bed. I went to a meeting/poetry & story reading for the Alaska Writer's Guild tonight, so I got home a bit late. I think that is going to become a once a month thing on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

That sounds like fun. I wish we had a local poet's group.

I know what you mean about downloading time. when we used to have dial-up connection, it wasn't worth even trying. 8-)

ours technically isn't dialup anymore... but the squirrels run faster getting the information to town than the computer lines do lol the absolute slowest dsl speed you can imagine!

    LOL. Bless your heart. 8-)
