Well, I stuck with it all the way to the end. Clearly written for this contest, and I wish you much luck in it. The best part for me was the relationship between the lady and the doggy. Dogs are wonderful creatures. Marilyn

Hi there; thank you so much for reading my first attempt at horror. I ultimately liked this story, but I had a hard time pulling it out of my pen. I'm glad you enjoyed and I appreciate your time to review,

I have to sympathize. I couldn't write about a dead body either, as seeing it in a scientific manner the way we see such things on the TV, I would be inclined to analyze in terms of what sort of insect and microbe activity were involved, which is gruesome and hard to express.

This was a horror story indeed.
Poor dog!
The man must have been a werewolf with magical powers that outsmarted the dog. The dog's owner is murdered and the police blame the dog, so they shoot it dead.

Hi CG: thank you so much for reading, reviewing, and catching the nit. I went back and made the edit.

All werewolves have some sort of magical powers - they are mythical creatures!

    I appreciate your kind words,

This is a story of ala Dean vintage. It is very well written with a smooth flow of word, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery and descriptive scheme.

Yes, this is definitely a 'Dean inspired' piece. How else could I have justified killing a dog? I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for the very positive review,

I was going to say this is not like your usual posts. Poor little Jimi! And what does a werewolf look like? (I'm guessing that's what the creature was. Sad and horrified so I guess you succeeded.

Yay!! I'm glad you were sad and horrified - if only for a moment. Sorry - I bet you thought you were going to read a fun, doggy story and instead you got THIS.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Another reviewer pointed out to me that Jimi and his lady are in Heaven together now, so it all turned out good,

This is good. I think its horror, and you wrote it through the eyes of a dog -- awesome Patty. I felt bad the dog and the lady died, but you did well.

Good luck in the contest.

Hi Rasmine; thank you for the positive review. This was a hard write, but one of the other reviewers pointed out to me that now the lady and Jimi are in Heaven together - that makes me feel better,

Poor Jimi. Nobody would have believed him even if he could have talked. Wonder what would have happened of he'd caught the werewolf. If he'd caught it changing, could he have killed it? Probably not. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Cindy; thank you so much for the understanding review. Jimi really got horrible treatment, but as another reviewer pointed out to me - at least he and his lady ended up in Heaven together.

Thank you for the well wishes,

This is very unusual for you. I was expecting something sweet about your pets. I see now it is a contest.

Excellent job. The ending really got me.

Good luck in the contest.

LOL! You aren't the only one that was taken back by the story being written by me?

I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway, and I promise happy doggy stories will be back soon; thank you for your encouraging review,

This story is well written, though I have to admit in was read by accident. I did not pay attention to the top where It states it's a horror story. I normally do not read that genre.

Good luck, however, in the contest. JW

Hi; I think when someone sees a title with 'dog' in it from me, they are expecting a 'feel good' story, and I apologize.

Thank you for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate your time,

    Hi Freda;
I bet you were thinking it was going to be another doggy story - but it turned on you, didn't it?

I struggled with this and I cringed when I killed the dog. He was so beautiful!

I appreciate your well wishes for the contest,
