This poem has a strong extended metaphor throughout of the thunderstorm being a metaphor for problems formed and solve. The rain is tears and the lighting is the light that leads to the solution and hope for a strong tomorrow

A very well-written poem about the storms of life that sometimes are very frightening and we think we will not survive to see the end of the storm. With courage and without fear we fight the storm with all our might until the storm dies and w notice we are still breathing and stronger than ever before.

You use the extended metaphor of the storm in a way that illustrates the difficulties that we face in life. It is a good metaphor, for it reminds us that storms always eventually pass.

Well stated, Tina, poetically speaking of course.
Your purple-themed presentation is stunning.
There are a couple of tried but true quotes that came to mind while reading this.
"Into every life a little rain must fall."--If we never face any hardships in our lives we tend to become soft and complacent.
"What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger."--Sure, we're ALL going to experience some pain in life. But we can get through it and will be stronger for having endured.
"Like a storm, this, too, shall pass."--Every bad storm finally blows away the clouds to reveal the sun beneath. We just have to hang in there.
Nice work, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the review. The quotes you mentioned are so closely related to the poem, yes! Even though those quotes are true forever, we often need to be reminded, so as to keep us encouraged. I may put these on my frig, even though the "weather" is pleasant and sunny lately! Thank you again for the review and compliment. Have a nice weekend.....Your guy in the rain needs a shave, poor fellow, lol!

Hahaha, yes, I guess he could use a little grooming, Tina.
You're more than welcome.

This is a lovely poem you've penned, my friend. It is tough sometimes weathering the storms of life, they do make us stronger and more appreciative and grateful for the sunny days. Nicely done! ~Kerry

First off: WELCOME BACK!! :) So good to hear from you after a while! ;) ;)
Now, to the poem: This is a heavy one, Tina....so burdened with an emotional trial and turmoil that the reader finally retreats to the cave with you. In the end, as the turmoil subsides, it is good to know that breath is once again a possibility... I am hoping that this does not describe your absence. If so, it is good to 'hear' your pen breathe! ;) If not, you've done a great job describing an emotional storm of epic proportions!! I've included a suggestion below...employ or ignore as you like. ;) Thank you sharing! ;) Yvette

I actually like that improvement! I did go through quite a few trials but I'm still here. Some blood clots and nerve issues in my back...I am starting to feel normality somewhat!
Thanks for the review! I'm sooo happy to be back in poetry world! Your review means a lot. Thank you!!

I like the overall metaphor here. I like the way you incorporate the different elements in relaying your argument and conclusion.
Well done.

Very refreshing to read about the rain and storm in this. You can feel and taste the water and drops. Very purifying and soothing. A refreshing and insightful read. Some breathtaking images. I fond it refreshing but it also tells of the storms we face that aren't so refreshing, but this poem paints a beautiful rainbow of hope after the storms. I really like the ending. So beautiful to read and visualize. Flows well like the river. Although the rain is angry in this poem I can still smell its refreshingness after the storm. Best,
