This is a very powerful poem. The ugliness of that day turns into something beautiful when we realize what unfathomable and unselfish allowed enable Him to die willingly in order than we might live.

Since we have been born again, it is such a blessing to know that He tool our sins from us and laid down Hi life so we could live for all eternity. The powerful message from Him as he hung on that cross, that should make us all feel that we should be forgiving of others, just as He forgave those who were crucifying Him, when he said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."

I like your word choices and images. That's what sets it apart for me. Most people will see the overall impact of the message, which is good. I focus on the images of the black folds of the sky and the pitched tent over the earth. The beauty lies in the details to me. I have never seen torcher used
as a verb. I like to see nouns made into verbs in poetry. You get double impact to me. Don't change it if someone says it is tortured.
