This is a wonderful, well-written story, vividly descriptive of your early days as a married couple--and parents of cats with really different personalities. God placed an angel--and his wife--in your path that day!
A heartwarming piece!

Oh, I so remember that!! I remember one of the last stations in our small town that had an attendant was across the street from the church - attendant's name was 'Mister Don'. :) ;) A wonderful story that defines the well-known fact that cats choose their owners... and can carry disdain for all else!! ;) :) LOL! :) Thanx for sharing, Lady Sal! ;) Yvette

Thank you so much for the excellent review and kind comments. Although I think I'm about 10 years older than you, it's nice to go down memory lane with you.

So your troublesome Zilla got a good and friendly new home, she apparently chose her new owner herself. A witty, well-paced story about the voyage on a truck with your two cats.
I have four cats, all from a local shelter and all four different characters. I am lucky they are best friends with the three dogs, Thank God I have a big garden!

Thanks for this story first thing in the morning. I absolutely loved it. Catzilla! I love cats (and dogs). I'm an animal lover so this made me really happy. I love how cats take to certain people like Abe. You got the essence of that with your story as you had Zilla stay with him. That was beautiful. Loved it! six stars! -January L.

A tree is known by its fruits, a man is known by his love, a writer is known by his expression, your love of animals, especially cats makes me to read this work; lovers are never happy with the one, they want more, and numbers are immaterial; well said, well done; enjoyed the read; thanks for sharing this; keep posting. A trip on memory lane, Sally? Getting enough black smoke I'm ready to choke. It must have been hard to get rid of the monster Zilla. Yet, cats have a mind of their own. They choose with whom they wish to be with. :) He probably lived long to raise hell and clear out the population of mice from that part of the country. :) Thank you for sharing.
