Thanks so much for your kind review. My Uncle had many inventive ideas to keep my cousins, my brother, and me, busy at the edge of camp so the adults could set up tents etc. with all of us out of their way. We had a very interesting childhood.

Similar experiences turned me off fishing for life, so I loved your poem for its sounds when read aloud. the alliteration and consonance were superb and the repeated lines caught the essential fruitlessness of fishing with inadequate tackle in an inadequate depth of water. Great fun (more fun than fishing anyway!)
