Sandra,
This story is full of suspense. I like the foreshadowing of the approaching storm. Your punctuation and grammar are really good. A suggestion to use 'more and more curious',
instead of curiouser and curiouser; an adjective with two or more syllables usually uses 'more' in front of it.
Your chapter is spelling, you've planted a few clues, and I can't wait to read more.
Blessings and hugs,
Good luck in the contest,
Cindy

Thank you so much, Cindy, for your lovely review. I'm so pleased you like the way it's going. What I love most about your review is you said my punctuation and grammar are really good, now that put a huge smile on my face. At the beginning of my novel-writing on here, I would have reams of errors pointed out! I must be taking it in now. Thank you my friend. I do appreciate you loads. :)) Sandra xx

The 'curiouser and curiouser' is more a phrase often used in UK English. It became famous with Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland' back in 1865. I just love the sound of it. Basically, it's more like saying something is increasingly strange. I'll see how many think I should change it. I might have to change it. Thanks for mentioning it, though, it's always good to get people's thought on things. xxx

I stand corrected, Sandra. If it was used in a book, I would keep it for literary effect.
    Have a wonderful Sunday
    Hugs,
    Cindy
