Yes, He will honour the nation that gives Him His rightful place. Not only whoever is in government but all people or at least the majority.
I think part of the "trigger" for the present state of godlessness was the rise of the movie industry which allowed normalisation of violence and horror with successive decades trying to shock more and more. I also think the attitude towards guns leads to a devaluing of human life. But I don't see any great desire for change in these areas. Typos: in title, and also "happens" should not have a capital.
