As I read your beautiful poem I could not stop crying and I am crying now... My heart is full of hope that soon you will be free of pain.
I too write to get rid of what I am feeling so I understand exactly what you mean.
Hope you are back in your comfy bed with out a painful thought in your head.
Love to you,
Lisa

So sorry for your recent problems, Debi.
As I am sitting here tonight,
I send this prayer to ease your pain.
It wings its way in hurried flight,
Through night wind and the autumn rain.

Thank you for this beautiful poem! I think this one is my most favorite of all your poems. This flows beautifully and I love the subtle refrain about the rain and how you felt peace through God's whispering His love for you through the rain! Virtual six!!

Helen, without you, I am not sure where I would be right now. You keep me feeling the hope and joy of what God has in store and I just want you to know that if I am able to stay upbeat, you are a big part of that.
Thank you for the kindest thing (relating to writing) that you have ever said to me.

If you get a chance and you like reading a clean novel (Weastern setting. Historical Fiction , then take a look at my recent post. It is a sequel to Grain of Wheat that should be on the market before Christmas. I prayed much before writing this and hope the people find it something of their liking.

Hi Debi, first I want to say my sweet
friend friend...you do know I was
kidding when I said send me one of
your pills to help me write as good
as you do...I don't...and if I could take
pills for much of anything...first my allergies would bump me off...
but they certainly haven't stopped you from being a talented writer...
next...your are more than welcome for the prayers...and the six stars...
you earned...the prayers are a gift
to you from God...and me...He is standing right in the room with you...
now I'm off to the shower...you try
and get some rest...love you in bunches...Linda xxoo 🥰🤗💖🙏🏆🌼

I think listening to the rain is very peaceful and refreshing. We haven't had any for months and we really need it. Am glad that you do.
Your meds really do a number on you? Well, hopefully they're helping.
You're a strong gal. You do have a lot of FS friends pulling for you, as I'm sure you know.
God bless you, Debi.

Dearest Katharine, I thank you so much for sending me all your well wishes and prayers, so I am sending you the rain. It seems we can't shut it off now that we finally are seeing it. Lol, did I mention how healing sunshine can be too. (Smile). I really do appreciate you and your sweet comments too. And I just looked and I do not have your birthday down. Would you mind giving me the date and letting me write a poem for you then?
It is a gift from me to all my lovely friends who review me, even tho I have not been able to review back too much. One reason is because in a bout of bad shingles, I got them in my eyes, and destroyed areas that now make it hard to see. Two surgeries this summer proved to be unsuccessful, but my writing has to go on or I might as well give up. So my allotted screen time only allows for about as much time as it takes to write and thank my reviewers. So this would be my way of giving back to something I appreciate so much.
-
Ohhhh Debi! Shingles in your eyes? And surgeries didn't help. You are the bravest and most thoughtful person I know! Thank you for asking my birthday date! your poem will be an honor and one I'll keep on my desk.
My birthday is Nov 2nd. (Not disclosing the year :) Thank you, sweet girl!

It is my pleasure, as for me the biggest reward is to imagine that big smile from the birthday person and to hear their joy and have them tell them they can't wait to show their family. Then I am in seventh Heaven, so it is a little selfish of me, because I enjoy the love that comes from it. You can either send me info or I can send you a few questions that I have. It can be anytime between now and then. I love it early (at least a week before) because then if I get an idea, I start and keep adding. I do put my heart into it, so I make sure you are happy with it before I post.. And lol, I never ask the year. Some are proud so they tell me. So I tell everyone to never tell me anything they don't want to see on their poem. Haha!
Are you a Libra or Scorpio. Our birthdays aren't far apart as mine is Oct 19th and I am a Libra.
-
I'm a Scorpio, born in Augusta,Ga, (home of the Masters Golf Tournament which was a lot of fun when we were in college. Everybody brought home friends for Spring Break (boys did, too) and we met and some married them.
I am widowed, after two marriages, and live alone in San Antonio. My daughter and granddaughter both live in Austin. My precious daughter, Katharine, left her job and came immediately to take care of me when I almost died from Covid. She stayed and nursed me for two months and got me Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine and saved my life, and did it without saying a word about her job. My granddaughter, Katya lives in Austin, too, and is big in politics, unfortunately.
My first husband was a med student and I worked as an EEG technician. The good doctor became an OB/GYN, and was too fond of his female patients. So after 20 years I was single with two kids. My son chose drugs and disassociated himself from our family.
After working for several people, I ran a decorating business from my house, for five years until the price of oil dropped in Texas, and everybody cut back on unnecessary things like decorating which I loved, but had to give up. Jobs were hard to get and I ended up in a furniture store where we made 15 % commission on our sales. Pitiful! I later met a San Antonian who was a developer in Crested Butte, Co. Ended up marrying him and living (and freezing) in CB for 9 years until he got cancer. When he died I moved back to San Antonio and did lots of hospital volunteer work. Had one date which was a disaster ( he listened to the baseball game on his radio all night - which says a lot about my conversation skills.) I decided that was the end of that.
So ... I spend most days writing away. I cook every night because I like to try new recipes and of course, like to eat. :) so I have a few women friends over for supper. I have a darling little garden home that I have enjoyed making mine, inside and out. However, I have gotten old and achy, which is my own fault (the achy part) because I just pat my recumbent bike as I pass by it, rarely stopping to get acquainted.
I have published a few things, but now, except for sending a few stories to magazines, am happy writing and reading friends' stories, etc on Fan Story. And that is the end of my boring account. oh, I did go to Mary Baldwin College in Virginia for two years, then transferred back to the University of Georgia (Go Dogs), then got a job with Delta Airlines as a reservationist in Houston, of all places - was trying for Atlanta where my friends were. Anyway, ended up becoming a full fledged Texan. I still live in jeans and love (beside my classical music that I listen to everyday) good old country music.
Debi, I have regaled you with a bunch of nothing. If there is anything you want to know that might add a little spice, fire away. You are a dear to do this, and I have yakked on way too long. I apologize and sincerely thank you for pledging to do something with all this.
love,
Katharine

Oh Katharine, you are so refreshingly fun! I wish I lived in Texas just so I could see your charming garden home, eat your new recipes and pat someone else's exercise bike besides my own. You would have me healed of my lupus in no time, because if laughter is really the best medicine, I fear you would have me in stitches all the time. You are a delight and I am so excited to write w a little humor, if you don't mind. The way you tell it is so much fun and thank you for your awesome honesty. However I will give just as much attention to the serious parts. I am thankful for your daughter who helped you get well. You are like a breath of fresh air. And either way, it will be a fun write!
A couple fast questions. My husband loves old country and I love some like Roy Orbison, but can't handle some. What is your favorite old country song and by who?
-
"Mamas Don't Let your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys+ by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, 1978
-
That' one of 'em. can't think of another at the moment (or probably any moment) :) You are so cute! I'd be delighted if you made mine humorous. I try to write some because our country is in such a mess it weighs me down.
-
Ooooh, Willie Nelson is my favorite singer of all time.
-
I think he lives in Austin. He was in a movie, once, along with that cute guy who was married to Barbara Streisand (one of them) for awhile. I do miss my memory!!!
-
now you've got me listening to country. Do you know Rock Me Mama like a Wagon wheel by Darius Rucker? That's another good one.
