The child who wrote 'to run and hide' has become a poet that loves to write, to share her words. The tree of knowledge has many branches, and our worldwide fan story tree holds many of us in her branches. Loved this one Debi.
cheers,
valda

Oh Valda, wow, I thank you so very much for the lovely review for my Trees poem. I was happy when Gypsy used this as a club event. It was fun going all the way back to third grade for the Trees poem. (Big Smile!) I appreciate all of your kind words and for the very generous six stars. Thanks again, my very dear sweet and dear friend. (Hugs!)
Love, Debi

Yes, that famous poem was always a favorite of mine as well. Joyce put it so well and simply as children's poetry ought to be. I love the way you share your love of FS as a family with friends you've made for life.
Thanks for sharing this talented style suits you very well.

I remember Kilmer's poem being read to me very early on. I loved the beat and rhyme of the words and was instantly enamored!
How sad that he was killed in action at age 31...leaving behind a widow and five children!
Love your poem.
I can't help but think that Mr. Kilmer would want us to respect ourselves and the art of poetry, I think!
Nice touch adding Patti Page singing the poem! I never knew it existed as a song!
This, and the gorgeous image AND the change of colors in each stanza to coordinate with that amazing tree is a six-star gem!

So many have criticized his poem as being "too simple" or "too sentimental"--
I say for it that have been written in February 1913 and STILL continue to inspire us speaks volumes!
