Exceptional

This poem, 'Til Then, is a remarkable response to this devastating news of Nolan's wife's death. It can mostly be compared with losing a parent, I guess, but married couples are even closer. We are here and then gone. So much to accept.

    Thank you, Bill!

I'm sending every star to Yvonne! It's so difficult to find the words to bring solace...

    We can only try!

I love the way you pick up on Yvonne's sleep in your sweet verse as the angels took her so peacefully, ever bound to Nomi in his heart. I have this lovely image which I hope Nomi will too so that he may feel some comfort and strength during this difficult time. Thanks for sharing, Karenina.Take care Debbie

Oh, Debbie. It's always so hard and we always want just one more day, don't we? I took some solace that Yvonne passed in her sleep and I pray that Nomi will as well. Thanks so much, my dear friend.

Excellent words to console Nomi after the passing of his wife. "I slumbered in love" is a beautiful line that captures a good feeling in your words. You have a smooth poetic flow of words and lines that speak to the reader.

This is a lovely poem of comfort for Nomi, on the passing of his dear wife. I'm glad they had so many good years together, and that they know they will be reunited again in the future. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Carol

The poems that everyone has been writing are so heartfelt and full of love. Though in pain, Nomi will feel that everyone believes that their love is precious and that they want to lift his love to her with their prayers and words of poetry. I can not do the same, but I can send my prayers. I feel his pain and grief and hope that he can find the strength until they meet again.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

It most definitely does. Having friends gather around you always helps. I didn't have that and I think that's why it took me so long to be able to stand on my feet again. I hope all the poems and prayers are beneficial to him as he tries to focus on another day, one at a time, without her physically by his side. she'll always be there but it takes a while to know that.
    Love ya, Carol

Hi Karenina!

I love this effort for Nomi's loss. I have not met him yet, but I have read Debi's tribute to him. It's so awesome that you guys do this for other members, because a loss of this magnitude cannot have too much support.

---"No sound did I hear,/I slumbered in love." -- This was my favorite line-pair. It plucks the strings of the heart, for it goes right to the moment and circumstances of her death and Nomi's status of being "in love with her" in the same moment.
---"Shine bright as a star,/my darling, til then." --This one was a close second. Lovely imagery.

Well done as a poet. Well done as a friend. Well done as a compassionate human being.

Patrick
