This is a winner in my opinion. Leaves jumping back on trees in fright leaves a lasting impression. Best of luck in the contest. You have my vote.

This is a thought-provoking poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. The writer tells the reader about the strange things that can happen and go bump at Halloween time.

This work has reached the exceptional level

The sixth star was for the lovely spin on the usual image of leave gently falling or being swept up by gusts of wind. Leaves taking fright...the word play made me smile, even as I shivered at the image of them scurrying back to a safe haven to weather out the night. Well done.

"'twas Halloween eve
dead leaves jumped back onto trees
so raw was their fright"

interesting metaphor: trees welcoming without a worry of their nudedness.
thank you for sharing!
