Hey GW,
For some reason I get the idea of, "What goes around comes around"... and "...you reap what you sow." Your piece provokes the reader to examine his own actions and their pending results. Wonderful thought, I enjoyed the write. I have a lot of Cherokee blood, and this piece strikes home, well done. Best wishes, Bill

There's food for thought. One might also consider, "If my ancestors didn't necessarily accomplish all they might have hoped, or if I disagree entirely with their motives, actions and decisions, then it stands to reason that if I try to do things differently and change my ideologies from those of my ancestors, perhaps I will, indeed, leave a legacy my descendants will be proud of?"

Thanks for taking the time to use correct grammar, which makes your message easier to follow and appreciate.

I like how this poem asks a question. You give the reader much to think about. I like the line about having pride about our ancestors,it is a theme that deserves to be in a poem. Excellent use of words.

Deepwater, A very poignant and powerful piece of poetry that at first I found to be very provocative however I found it's
laced with a truism that goes beyond no bounds of reminiscing's of one's ancestors. The picture is somewhat holy and definitely compliments your poem so well. Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to meet all your endeavors be good ones.

That is the statement of true wisdom. I hope some of my achievements will be remembered by my descendants (lol). An awesome picture to accompany your thoughts.

Really got me thinking about my own past, or what I intend to do in the future. The picture you chose took me back to everything I learned as a child, and all the things I wish to do as an adult. I loved it.
