What can be said about this fantastic ode! You made me feel the nostalgia of the moment--prolonged it, so to speak! Also, I was so impressed with your reading, so energetic, timing sweet and sublime. It's so great to come across a talent such as yours--for free!! Thank you for sharing your gift!

Thank you, John Wilson, for your generous, six star review of my fantastic ode. I wanted to put the reader right there on Hollywood Boulevard eating hotdogs. I am glad you enjoyed my video for free, too. Once again, thanks.

When I read this, I was enthralled with the place and the feelings of nostalgia and the memories it invoked for you. You gave us past and present at the same time

Oh, thank you, Barb, for your review. I started composing this poem in my head while seated at Skooby's.

Funny how some places never seem to disappear from our memories. My place was called Pasquale's where we ate pastrami sandwiches and french fries with vinegar and pickles.
Nicely written.
Last time I stood on Hollywood and Vine I wanted to cry. The whole area was quickly becoming a ghetto. That is a crime.

Oh, JDRBAR, Pasquale's sounds like a place that would inspire your prose or verse. Very often, people overlook the memories, tastes, and nostalgia involved in fast foods and comfort foods. The last time I was on Hollywood Boulevard, the street had changed but Skooby's was still there. Thank you for your review.

This is a great memory. Your descriptive words & attention to detail made me feel as if I were there. The picture is great, too. That is amazing about lemons on your tree in your yard. What a treat! Your words flow well. Thanks for the notes. Congratulations on your well-deserved win. Jan

A very well-written Ode to your favorite fast food hot dog stand. It is normal everyday food that we can fall in love with to a degree of addiction. Congratulations on winning the contest as well.

I like the way you focus on old memories while you create new ones.
I also like your use of color in the poem: red hot dogs, red stools against the yellow of the lemonade.
The way you've written prolong and melt is a very nice touch.
Good luck in the contest.

Okay, I always get excited when I see you have written another poem. I have loved everyone of your poems but this more than all. It has a soft, meandering feel that is gorgeous to read. You have also sent a nostalgic message which is easy to identify with. I really like the lay out (if you can call it that!) of your poem. It spoke to me ! Sue
