The needs of the season, all manner of unco' beasties ranging the night. Sounds like a scene from a new zombie flick, just right for Halloween and for the Tiny Tales book.

Hey, Dean,

Grim as it may seem, I have a solution to dear old dad's problem; he needs to get down on his knees and put his head as close to Marissa's as he can...then take careful aim and then........."come and get it!"
Now see what you made me do! What a horrible thought...although it does fit right in with the theme:)
Another great tale to not go to sleep by, lol. Thanks! Lol.
(I hate the living dead!)

So you have a good evening, also, my friend,
Bill

This is one of your best of the tiny tales- very lyrical, parts reading like verse more than prose. The wailing of the sirens clearly effects him like "The Bells". Very Poe and a six if I had one.

Hi, Dean

_ Those blasted zombies give no concession as they tap ... tap ... tap on the door.
_ Marissa needs to turn into a Chuckie wannabe and annihilate them all. Save Dad is dastardly deed. (*<*)
_ Good 'Dean stuff'!!

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jax (*:*)

They don't give us enough of these sixes, and I never seem to have them when I need them most. Luckily, today, I have one to give, and it's much deserved. :-)

Maybe daddy could give Marissa a hug and kiss, then point the barrel at the back of her head, aiming toward the front of his.
Too bad you can't call 'Time out' like we did as kids, and run away.
Well done as usual. The true horror is what dad was about to do. I can't even imagine having to make a choice like that.
'Night washes over foul scenarios being played out on the face our once beautiful world, much like an ebony velvet curtain closing on the final performance of an ill-conceived play.'
That was one awesome freakin' line. I'm giving you a six just for that. Way to sum up the fate of the world not only in one sentence, but an elegant, vivid sentence.

And I sincerely appreciate the fact that you enjoyed that particular metaphor, Mike. I played with that one, single line for over an hour...seriously!

OH heck, out of sixes...this is great Dean! And the sound effects too are absolutely chilling. BEcause, that is the sound of disaster! I love the use of dialogue to move the story along. Masterful. And enjoyably creepy! :D Suse

Hello Dean

So glad zombies are not real
This story of how a father saved his only daughter from the living dead devouring her alive--shot her with his only bullet.
Too bad he met his horrible fate.

Great conclusion. That was the kind thing to do for a loved one. I imagine this is how it will be when ISIS comes for the last of us.
