That makes two of us, Patty. I'm not really a horror person and have asked Dean to have mercy on me. Of course he did, you know Dean - selfless to a fault!

This was another part of your story telling that I'd not seen before and for me it
was "pitch perfect". Not too terrifying, is what I mean.

Well done,
Akinyi

Ick. I don't like horror stories either. Really hard for me to read, depending on how much bloody gore is included. I'm sure Dean LOVED this one. LOL! Good job, but try not to do it too often.

I did like the doggie, though. :)

Hi Phyllis; thank you for stopping by to read and review. I don't think I will be writing much horror; I hated having to kill the dog!

I haven't seen what Dean thought; I think he may not review the contest entries until after the contest closes.

Anyway, thank you for your encouraging words,

Actually, I shouldn't give you ANY stars. HOW COULD YOU KILL THAT BEAUTIFUL DOG??????????
Excellently written, and definitely a horror story. I was not expecting the ending whatsoever.

LOL!! You know, I've been waiting for someone to blast me for killing a dog. That was the tricky part of turning one of my doggy stories into a horror show!

I'm glad the ending caught you off guard and that you found it interesting.

The beautiful six, shiny stars put a smile on my face!

I was shocked by your write Patty and it took me completely unawares! I actually said out loud, 'oh my god' as I was reading it. But you are experimenting with your stories and as long as it's fiction, I'm okay with it! Like you say, take a leaf out of Dean's book! Love Dolly x

Hi Dolly; I'm sorry I shocked you - it was tricky. I knew that if I wrote a horror story from the POV of the dog, you guys would understand I wasn't going too far astray from my 'style,' but then I had to make it horror.

Thank you for reading, reviewing and the encouraging review.

Very interesting story Patty. I like the way you were able to transform your story from being about a woman's love for her obedient dog to a tale of grotesque murder by the sadistic werewolf like " man creature" who violently obliterates Jimi's owner to a bloody mess. It was not what I was expecting since I thought that the dog would go insane and just use his teeth to tear through the woman's flesh. Very creative and unique . Well done.

I wish I had a 6 for you, Patty, this is an incredible story to go in this contest. What a sad ending too, the poor dog, but he ended up with his beloved mistress and there will soon be more dead people around to make them realise, they shot the wrong culprit. Well done and good luck, it was a terrific read. :) Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra; thank you so much!! I will always take a virtual six - its the thought that counts. I appreciate your kind words and genuine concern for this good dog who just wanted to love his lady.

The story is engaging and sad. The poor animal was unable to defend himself, but I will put a happy ending to your horror story. He and the lady are now running and frolicking together in the verdant meadows in heaven. LOL Good Job Patty. Nancy

Hello, Party,

Good job, honey, very well written. Poor Jimmi. It's a sad story. The good dog had an idyllic life and his lady loved him. You did great.

Hi Gypsy; thank you so much for your very kind and thoughtful review. Yes, it is sad, and it was a horror story because the dog died, and the true culprit got away - just like in real life,

Well, I'm glad you haven't - I was all set to read one of your happy doggy stories and halfway through it changed --- so chilling, and to think the poor innocent dog was shot for the wicked deed -

Bring back happy doggy stories - Bring back happy doggy stories - Bring back happy doggy stories - Bring back happy doggy stories - Bring back happy doggy stories -

I disagree. This was a well written horror story. Dean has his style and you have yours. I'm sure he's proud of you. It read like the starting of a novel? Great job, and good luck in the contest.

Take care,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda; thank you SO much for this very positive review. While this story could be continued, I don't think I could stand the pressure I felt while writing this short scene.

Your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated,

I understand that. And putting it a chapter at a time is a bit disjointed and hard to keep up with where characters are, and which ones have left the scene. haha. You're good at what you do, I'd stick with it.
