This truly is a nightmare. Can you imagine the days before anesthesia when ops were performed routinely without it? Writing is descriptive and, as usual, every word counts. A good addition to your horror story book. Marilyn

Oh, no way would I want to imagine that, Marilyn. What about all of the impromptu battlefield operations our poor wounded boys in uniform had to endure? The one's who were lucky enough to survive, that is.

I very much appreciate your review. :)

Yes, it's pitiful what generations before us had to endure when wounded OR just the general population in everyday life if they had to be operated on. Maybe we did live back then--I think so--just recycled humans.

Oh my...that is a nightmare in and of itself. This is fairly short. Am I missing something...8 lines total. If not, that's fine. I just don't want to miss anything. Just an FYI (medical clarity)...bright lights actually cause the pupils to become smaller, not dilate. Most readers won't no the difference, but thought you might be interested. I love this stuff, Dean.

Thanks, Megalips, and I did the research on that point. When one is under the effects of some powerful narcotics, it generally has the opposite effect on the dilation of the pupil under bright lights. Odd, isn't it?

This is one of my greatest fears, to be awake while being operated on. Probably because it actually happened to me when they implanted the defibrillator in my chest. I awoke in the middle of the operation... It was terrifying...

    Thanks again. ~Dean

Thanks, Jenny, I appreciate it. SS Dr. Josef Mengele was notorious for the selection of victims to be killed in the gas chambers and for performing unscientific and often deadly human experiments on prisoners. After the war, he fled to South America, where he evaded capture for the rest of his life. Too bad they never got their hands on him...

Your review is much appreciated... :) ~Dean

To me he is the scariest cruelest because of those experiments...poor poor Jews

Yep, he was a real-life monster, in human form. No doubts about it...
