I think the number one yearning is be at peace, within one's self, and to be filled with joy, every other pursuit tends to be. I don't think truth fits into these other categories, truth leads to facing up to what we are are. I don't think some people are ready for tat. Beautifully done though, blessings, Roy

Great question here. Why indeed? This is very thought-provoking. I think the answer changes, it ebbs and flows and morphs. Excellent job. Thank you for sharing.

Well, this is thought provoking. From the picture I would guess love or lust, but perhaps something deeper in the mind. It's a great question to ask and ponder. I really like this, best of luck in the contest.

a very thought provoking question and you have asked and answered in the same very effective poem
it appears that the yearning keeps returning to the poem's character because "it" has not been found and the search must continue
if the character now must see that all the things paople and pkaces searched have not been the answer
so
a BIG change in the characters life is poending
have a smiley day

The author's words are interesting, engaging, creative and thought
provoking. I pondered on the question in this poem. For me, our
hearts are restless until they rest in God. The artwork compliments
this poem well. Welcome to Fanstory! May you be well and safe.....

I really like how you e put these words together in the form, each one contributing to the whole. I like that it has a general theme and we never know what the yearnings are for

You have made excellent use of your seventeen syllables in this piece, which conveys a powerful message about a consuming passion, which is not welcome by the trapped speaker.

This is an intriguing presentation, in that it states categorically that there is this yearning and the picture suggests just that. When reading the author's notes our minds are then diverted from the yearning assumed, to something you really can't comprehend. It's a puzzlement. :)Ralf
Welcome and I hope you soar.
